I just wanted to thank everyone sincerely for their time and efforts during The Phoenix Appeal. It was an amazing experience to see so many artists (around 300), agents and venues come together to make a very special collection of events representing the same cause; The Bushfire Appeal. About 75% of the donations went to The Red Cross Bushfire's Appeal, The Corner donated to The Salvation Army I believe, and The NSC donated $8698 to The Wildlife Fund and the rest to The Red Cross.
All in all, the venues, organizers and artists raised a total of $42, 231.65 going directly to charity.
Truly amazing for such a short time to organize such large events on a grass roots level!
Tim Burke and I transferred $7, 473.50 through The Commonwealth Bank straight into The Red Cross account this week, and The Corner and The NSC made their own transactions.
Congratulations everyone, and I know Tim and I would like to thank all the artists, mixers, mc's, music industry, and friends who gave their time, services and energy. That includes, Triple R, Plakkit, Pop Boomerang Records, Inpress Magazine, Sumo, Industry Press, Intertia, Pure Pop, Laughing Outlaw, A New Entity, Impact Digital, Minute Man, and anyone else who gave. I would also like to personally thank Marcus Seeger and his film crew and freelance doco assistants at Couch Media for all their tireless work.

But of course, it is not all about the music, it is also a time to remember loved ones lost or towns, schools, homes etc destroyed, so in addition to raising as much money as possible for The Red Cross we also aim to take a minutes silence and light a candle during the night at every venue involved.
