FLASHbACK is a classic/hard rock/blues band comprised of some of the most talented and experienced musicians in the Phoenix area.
Stan Hovel started playing music when he was nine years old. He studied the French horn for nine years and had the distinction of becoming his high school’s first drum major. Stan then decided to play drums, forming a rock band with his two brothers and a neighborhood friend. After playing for a number of years, he started a career in the electrical field but never lost his passion for music. The last five years Stan has once again been able to play music locally. He is very excited to be a part of Flashback and have the chance to play with three other excellent musicians. We are lucky to have him as the backbone of the band!
On bass we are blessed to have the incomparable talents of Patrick Conner, who has been pickin' and playin' since he was knee high to a guitar stand. Patrick hails from Iowa and a large family full of rock and blues musicians. Patrick toured full time with the band Squadron in the 80's, and has continued his success with various bands since. He is also an exceptional sound engineer, running the PA as well as the lights for each show. We would be lost without him.
Malcolm Todd Sloan is a gifted vocalist who has quickly become one of Flashback's most important components. Originally from Toronto, Canada, Todd is a practicing attorney here in the Valley. He not only has a great voice, but is a very talented song-writer, with one of his songs-"Ass Kicker"-currently being used on the soundtrack for a Warner Brothers movie titled 'Spring Breakdown'. You will definitely want to get copies of his two CDs. And you won't want to miss his live performances with Flashback. We are delighted to have his experience and abilities in the band.
