Three phases of a good idea: 1st phase--people tell you it's a crazy idea, it'll never work. 2nd phase--they say, it might work but it's not worth doing. 3rd phase--when people tell you, "I told you that was a great idea all along" -- Arthur C. Clarke

Sean's Interests
|
| General | Gaming (computer, console, and traditional), reading, traveling, Atlanta Braves baseball.
| | Music | My current favorite band is Audioslave. I'm not happy that Chris Cornell quit the band. Some other favorites are Tori Amos, Jimmy Buffett, John Mellencamp, Foo Fighters, U2, Sublime, and Barenaked Ladies. However, my musical tastes are fairly wide and varied so I can usually find some type of music I like anywhere I go. | | Movies | My favorites are The Lord of the Rings trilogy, followed by Contact. I now, however, must put in a plug for my friends, Dead Gentlemen Productions (www.deadgentlmen.com). Their new movie, The Gamers: Dorkness Rising, is not just a funny movie about the world I work in, it's one of the funniest movies I've probably ever seen! Check the stuff on their website, and then buy lots of their stuff, because, well, they're cool and I want them to make more movies. | | Television | Tracy and I finally got caught up on Bones and it is still my favorite show. We also regularly watch Heroes, Supernatural, and Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, and love them all. | | Books | I used to work for Margaret Weis of Dragonlance and Death Gate Cycle fame, so her and Tracy Hickman have to go here. It's a good thing I genuinely like their books. Neil Gaiman, H.P. Lovecraft, James P. Hogan, Orson Scott Card, and George R.R. Martin are a few of my other favorites. I love science fiction. I still like fantasy, though I don't read much of it besides stuff for work. I also like to read travel books, like Bill Bryson's A Walk in the Woods, and books on medieval, classical, and ancient history. | | Heroes | My grandpa, John Lee; Carl Sagan; and Bono of U2. |

About me:
A little bit about me? Hmmm... I'm 32 years old and still don't really know what I want to be when I grow up. I have been everything from a broadcast journalist in the military to an IT telephone support technician to a game designer/writer/editor to an avionics technician, and have gone back to being a military broadcast journalist again. I'd like to be President one day, but how does one get that job these days without being obscenely rich? A more realistic goal for the near future is to become an officer in either the Navy or the Army. I'm working on it, and chances are good, but I have to consistently be able to run fast for two miles first.
I'm married to Tracy (see my Friends Top 12 list) with two boys (Kyler, 8, and Jackson, 3). We also have a new one on the way. Don't know any more than that yet, but come the middle of July 2009 there will be a new Everette unleashed on the world.
I was, up until March of 2007, the Director of Sales and Marketing and Managing Editor for Margaret Weis Productions, Ltd. and Sovereign Press, Inc., both small game publishers. I loved that job, but didn't make nearly enough money to support myself and my family. We moved to Florida to be near my family, but the lack of good jobs in the area kind of forced our hand, and I have recently gone back into the military (the Army this time). So far, the Army has been good to me and mine. We like it at Ft. Meade, though I'm not really a broadcaster here. I'm doing much the same kind of job I did in the game industry. I got to the 55th Signal Company (Combat Camera) and they made me the editor-in-chief of the company newsletter. I've taken it from being a photocopied, corner-stapled throw-away thing to a full-color magazine. There's still work to do, but it's looking great so far.
I'm orignally from the Kennesaw/Marietta area of Atlanta, GA. I spent 5 years in the Navy as a broadcast journalist, and was recently in the Air Force Reserve as avionics technician. I've had the opportunity to live overseas, 3 years in Naples, Italy and a year on an island in the Indian Ocean called Diego Garcia. I absolutely love to travel, especially internationally. Almost all of my family lives in Florida, though I do have some family still in Georgia, as well as some in California.
Oh... a couple of books I helped to write have come out recently. They're all from Margaret Weis Productions, Ltd. First, we have Dragons of Krynn, the source for everything dragon related in the world of Dragonlance. Second, we have the Battlestar Galactica Roleplaying Game, and third is Ed Greenwood's Castlemourn Campaign Setting. You should really go out and buy all of these books. It would make me very happy!

Who I'd like to meet:
I was asked this question in a church group once. Everyone else had biblical answers. My answer then was the same as it is now. I'd most like to meet and hang out with Bono, lead singer of the band U2. He's one of the few famous people in this world who I think is genuinely worth looking up to.
