About Phoenix Rizin

I'm PHOENIX RIZIN, an DJ / producer / composer from NYC.

I started making music in 2001 while part of the Lehman College Radio Station, first making beats on an MPC 2000, then later using my brother's MPC 2000XL whenever my brother was at work or off performing throughout the city. Eventually, the competition bug bit me, and I eventually teamed up with long-time friend Danny DaSilva (aka D) to win 2 IPA Beat Battles at the legendary Nuyorican Poets Cafe in October 2004 and April 2005. This success would lead me to produce tracks for artists Rugged N Raw, Mike G., and Lax One.

In addition to competition, I have gained invaluable experience in film scoring, creating original music for the independent films Zombie Fest, Rue Morgue and The Purloined Letter (directed by Jorge Solis).
