About me: PHONE IN SICK is the new hot monthly party pumpathon featuring two of London’s most exciting and energetic DJs, Jerry Bouthier (Boombox/Ponystep) and Fonteyn (Nuke Them All/Computer Blue). PHONE IN SICK boasts the Amazonian Gwendoline and the incredible gender “blender” Elaine as its hosts. DJ support comes from feared Hoxton door whore TROYBOY (Computer Blue) and electro queen MARIKA (HOTEL MOTEL).
PHONE IN SICK is completely unselfconscious, and unhinged. Dressing up is not compulsory, but is always welcome. It’s more about feeling amazing than wearing something amazing. It’s all about fun rather than fashion (but we accept that fashion is fun).
PHONE IN SICK occurs monthly in the sumptuous surroundings of the downstairs disco cave at Electricity Showrooms which boasts a huge light up dance floor that springs to life like some deranged neon Rubik’s cube and give the space a really special energy that is simply infectious. The music pumps and people literally smash their shoes to pieces.
Standing at well over six foot tall in her stocking feet blonde goddess Gwendoline is a truly towering presence on the London scene. Having worked with Goldfrapp and with a part in the new Terry Gilliam film under her belt, Gwendoline is about to take centre stage in a major new exhibition by acclaimed photographer Polly Borland at the Michael Hoppen gallery.
Jerry Bouthier has carved out a reputation for himself as one of the most exciting DJs working in London today. Hugely in demand with the fashion crowd, as part of JBAG he has put together soundtracks for fashion shows such as Vivienne Westwood and Jonathan Saunders. Fonteyn ran the London’s pioneering electro night Computer Blue between 2001 & 2007. He now co-runs London’s post-rave apocalypse Nuke Them All, as well as remixing tracks for hot acts like Dragonette and Melnyk.
