Ana Marie,Governor Silver,
And a collective to be introduced shortly
Influences
The confused, distracted, and fearful who lit the fire under our asses to make this project what it is. The archetypes that we all embody every time we take the stage, make the coffee, and clean the litter box. Those little voices and intuitions that stick with us even when we find ourselves in the barren wasteland of dead thoughts, writers block, and blackened dreams. Those strong enough to be the rock without their hearts hardening into stone. The petty gossip ridden individuals that label you for their own entertainment, and the weaklings that feed their egos and believe in their cause. Artists who think for themselves and write for themselves... because without unaltered honesty when the mask falls of and the funding gets pulled the aftermath is not pretty. The sensations, sight, sounds, and tastes that drive us to reinterpret them, paint the pictures, and weave the tapestries to hand down to our children. A cold breeze with a hot cup of coffee, and the conversations that put words on the page. The muses that leave us with the melodies, multiple orgasms, and that wretched void. Love and the constant quest to understand what it truly is, beyond the pale.
This project formed almost two years ago when a very bitter little girl learned how to formulate the songs in her head and bring them to life. Phonic Riot is emotionally driven, and inspired by the everyday events that can be death to projects and require years of therapy sessions and self help books to overcome. We like to dance to our own off beat in our new red shoes, and take the back roads through tourist traps and uncharted territory. For me, life has been the constant struggle to unpack suitcases, uncork emotions, and steady the pen. Telling these stories has been a complex and thus far incomplete process. Enter Governor Silver!
For those who have stuck with us, there is a method to the madness. And it isn't shear laziness or giving in to the mundane routines of everyday life as much as learning to fully appreciate this process. That takes time. You can't stop what's coming, but you can most certainly delay the process. That may be my M.O. But there is a time and a place for procrastination and the project is currently working on the 17 some songs that were birthed after 9 months of "incubating" in sub zero temperatures.
We hope to stabilize members in the near future. But that can be a rather difficult task for the mentally unstable. It is a work in progress. And a to be collaborative effort by a group of hand selected individuals dedicated to take our voices back and make some noise.
Blind Ambition is a great tune, I was trying to picture you on stage singing it with a light show. I'll definately come back for more listens. I had to listen to Penelope again too. ;) Good Stuff!

We just wanted to let you know that Dermaptera has released a new CD! It's called Blue and Wide, and you can download a full-length version of one of the songs from the album by clicking here. If you like it and want to hear more, please click on our CD cover below, and you will be linked to CD Baby, where you can hear two minute samples of all of the songs from the album (or buy it, if you like). If you have already gotten a copy of the CD, and like it, we would be very happy if you could post a review of the CD on CD Baby. Thanks so much for your support!
It will be good to see you guys upon return to the Western World. I'm really hoping to get decent internet over there to be able to communicate properly. Until then, lol, and peace out, Ruedi
yeah billy's phones jacked up. anyway, it'd be awesome to see you tonight. it's unfortunate about the antiques playing on the same night, i agree. i've seen spectrum before and i'm not an enormous fan, but it'd still be a cool show to hit up! maybe we'll see you tonight. charles
