PhonogEist is the electronic music project of Jack Resweber, a New Orleans based artist and VST plugin developer who designs synthesizers under Psychic Modulation. His website can be found here: http://www.psychicmodulation.com
Since childhood Jack has used tape recorders to capture stange noises and tv samples as early efforts in sound collage. These early recordings influenced him to take this concept further, experimenting with voices, radio noise and other sound sources captured and manipulated with samplers and effects.
In 1999 Jack began PhonogEist as a creative outlet, incorporating distorted beats and rhythmic noise, against a backdrop of dark ambience and subliminal sound collage tinged with subtle weirdness.
In 2004 Jack released 'Dream Recorder' as the first official PhonogEist album. And later releasing 'Memory Placement' which is actually remixes of older works.
Jack is currently in the process of working on a new PhonogEist album 'Distance Collapsing' which can be expected for release in 2010.
