life. sounds. people. friends. childhood. headphones. the science of sleep. scandinavia. cities. the seaside. coincidence. trial and error. and lots of music, from leonard cohen to four tet, and everything in between, currently a lot of friedmann/liebezeit, calika and cocteau twins.
Sounds Like
"there's a sense of gentle mélange at work, something that could almost be at home in a quiet jazz club in the early '60s as in a chill-out room in the future, and the strand of sonic influences that touches on a variety of acts including Brian Eno, Bark Psychosis, and others with a similar ear for calm but heavily textured work." (all music guide)
(spex)
"Musically, the majority of The Objects Don’t Need Us is exquisite. The entire album has a rustic, desolate, sundown feel. Wisely, Grübel lets his guitar playing come to the forefront. The delicate, gently-strummed acoustics and tremolo electrics shimmer like mirages on a desert road. The pitter-pattering of computers is relegated to the fringes of the mix, careening from ear to ear as if made nervous by the more traditional guitars. The effect is at times reminiscent of Angleo Badalamenti’s work for David Lynch: haunting and, as Grübel’s working name would suggest, more than a little noir-ish." (popmatters)
"imagine the solitary singer hunched over a beat-up acoustic guitar beneath a highway overpass with a rack of digital processors at his feet. As he strums through his wounded songs, a mic routes localized noises through the bank of filters and turns this industrialized junk into scattered glitch accompaniment." (igloo magazine)
"A delightful album of layered electronics, found sounds and gentle guitars coming over like a mixture of Bright Eyes and The Postal Service given a laconic remix by Four Tet, all woven and sewn up into a little package of early morning sunrise." (fat and confused)

Hey Matthais, first of all i hope you're feeling great. then, I remember that one day you advised me to read some Antonin Artaud, but i don't remember you mentioning a specific book. In his early writings? is that right? or d'you think i can choose at random thank you soooo much. xox marie
