What is PhotoBox?
PhotoBox lets you show off your MySpace photos on your profile.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR PROFILE 2.0 USERS
PhotoBox will not appear correctly if it is on the left hand side of your profile. If you add PhotoBox and it appears on the left hand side of your profile, or you upgrade your profile to Profile 2.0, you can move it to the right hand side of your profile by going to "Customise Profile" under the Profile menu and dragging the PhotoBox module to the right hand side.
There will be changes made at some point to fix this, however in the meantime you will need to make sure that PhotoBox appears on the right hand side.
Frequently Asked Questions
- How do I add photos to PhotoBox?
- PhotoBox displays the photos from your MySpace photo albums, so to add photos go to "My Photos" in the Profile menu at the top of the page and click on "Upload Photos".
- How do I create new albums?
- Go to My Photos, click on "Edit Photos" and then click on "Create Album". Alternatively you can create a new album when you upload new photos.
- Why aren't any/all of my photos appearing?
- PhotoBox will automatically display photos in albums that are visible by everyone, and it will show you albums that are set to "Friends Only". In addition if your friends have PhotoBox installed they will also see albums that are set to "Friends Only".
To change the privacy settings for an album go to Edit Photos, then click on the privacy settings for the album you want to change (e.g. "Everyone"), select the new setting and click Save.
When uploading images into an album visible by everyone make sure you are are comfortable with the whole world seeing them!
- I have albums set to "Friends Only", but I still can't see them.
- By default, when you add an application to your profile access to private photos - this includes "Friends Only" photos - is disabled.
To change this, go to My Account, click on Settings next to PhotoBox and make sure that "Allow access to my private photos and videos" is checked.
- My albums are loading, but I get an "X"/"broken image" icon for some of my photos.
- Occasionally there will be a issue with the MySpace servers that host your photos which will result in your photos not loading correctly.
- Help! My question isn't answered here/I have a problem with PhotoBox
- If you have a problem or a question that isn't answered here feel free to send me a message.
Please note that if your profile is set to only allow messages from friends (you can check this by going to My Account -> Spam and looking for "Allow non-friends to send me messages") I will need to add you as a friend to reply to your message.
If your profile is set to require your last name or email address for friend requests (this is required for all users under 16, for other users this can be found under My Account -> Spam as "Friend Requests: Require last name or email address") you will need to put those details in your message or I will not be able to add you and reply to you.
