KANENG LOLANG [concerto] TRA$H CONVERTERS [Miguel Sá + Fad!gaz = DJ set]
Kaneng Lolang grew between the cultures of Nigeria, Bulgaria and Russian occupied Siberia and thus her music has weaved those culture’s influences, with the sensibilities of folk, free-form, early blues and the psychedelic, soulful glory of the recent past. She began as a dancer in Lagos, to then move to London where she studied physical theatre and became involved in film. Her projects include collaborations with Taharqa Aleem, Tunde Adebimpe, Dilomprizulike, Champion Soul and Bennu. Her self-released EP ‘The Last Offering” is a seam through an experimental pre-folk landscape with incantations of a modern urban experience, an essential introduction to Lolang’s sonic home. She lives and works in New York.
