Here are some nice things some nice people said about us;
Manchester’s Phre The Eon are experts in executing vibrantly lit indie songs. Carved throughout, is a sense of aching emotion, but singer Gary Phethean has an attractive, wistful voice that artfully avoids over emphasizing the mood. He also plays guitar, splashing in neatly picked guitar notes alongside the acoustic of Gary Kirk, all spliced in between explosive peaks of volume and energy. Beneath songs like “Interference”, you'll find delicate threads of folk and indie pop, honed into sturdy outbursts, influenced, not exclusively, by bands like Hard-Fi. On the quality front, the production is neat and the songs consistently memorable and catchy – enjoyable..

The four members of the band are Gary Phethean (hence the Ph in the band name), Colin Ramage, Gary Kirk and Berg, and tonight, all four were on mighty form. It felt like something pretty special as we were taken on a musical journey that cannot usually be replicated in the support slots they’ve often found themselves in.
From the opening Fighting The War, we are left in no doubt that Phre The Eon are ready to party. An uptempo number that sets the crowd off dancing and somehow you can’t help but join in, as they flow into their second number, Keep It Together.
It’s the outing of Interference, the lead track to their EP, that really shows the capabilities of the band, with the contrasting Stay In The Country bringing the tempo down a level.
As we flow along via Neon Sign, Restless Swan and Help Yourself, the band appears to settle in to the night with confidence. Steady bass and drums provide the solid back line, which the two Gary’s can then exploit with gentle harmonies in places, and full on guitar solos in others.
They make a strong finish, ending on Tiniest Things, with members of the audience showing their appreciation with shouts of "Phre The Eon" chanted out.
The band urge us to leave the venue "phreing some eons"; if you are not sure how to do that, I would suggest you check out this band
