NEWS 1/9.2009 I'm printed a second edition of Organic Warfare cause the first run have SOLD OUT! So thanks to everyone for supporting us and buying our music, we couldn't have done it without you :-)
Also, a tour for the UK in 2010 is slowly starting to take shape, I'll post the gigs here as they come in. The plan is to record live for two consecutive days at The Forge in Camden, as part of the tour, and then release it as a 'Phronesis Live Album'. Also working on a Danish tour for next year and I'll keep you up to date about that too.
Don't forget both Green Delay and Organic Warfare are available through ITUNES:
Phronesis features Ivo Neame-Piano, Jasper Høiby-Double Bass and Anton Eger on drums.
Here's a few quotes:
"..infectious, accessible sound.."
[**** John Fordham – The Gurdian]
"I know im going to keep listening."
[Avishai Cohen]
"..his library of trio compositions create a coherent whole, with a subtle, yet invigorating
mood..Høiby’s instrumental abilities easily match his compositional flair."
[John L Walters – The Gurdian]
"..it is three extremely gifted musicians, you meet on this record." [Boris Rabinowitch, Politiken-DK]
"..well named, it contains eleven pieces of fiercely interactive, often climactic music growing naturally from the considerable individual strengths of its three participants." [Chris Parker, Vortex]
"I thought it was absolutely superb; just the first couple of bars knocked me out." [Chris Hodgkins of Jazz Services]
"The material comprises entirely of Hoiby originals and reveals him to be an excellent writer with an unfailing ear for a good tune.
[Ian Mann, www.24dash.com]
”A frenetic grooving, great young band with bags of confidence..”
[Time Out London]
”Høiby’s rich and sophisticated piano trio... traveling down deep,
smouldering grooves.”
[Daniel Spicer - Jazzwise]
“Fond of busy cross-rhythms and staccato bass patterns, they avoided the predictable..”
- four out of five stars
[Jack Massarik, Evening Standard]
“..intimate detail.. linear development..darting counterpoint..warm-toned contrapuntal bass..”
[Mike Hobart, Financial Times-UK]
Phronesis mixes the thoughtful and composed with the raw and spontaineous.
They serve you vibe and atmosphere on a jumping bed of melodic and dancing grooves..
Hope you enjoy,
Love Jasper
