About me:

DJ Fonzy has always felt different about music, that music has a life of its own, that music has a language that speaks to all. For DJ Fonzy, this is the core of what he does behind the turntables. Before this, though, he had to learn the language. Growing up during the culture-clashing 80's, DJ Fonzy was able to get a taste of music that had life and not just sounds. Being exposed to a vast array of music genres, styles, and artists, from Michael Jackson to Culture Club, from Erasure, to New Order, to Guns N' Roses, DJ Fonzy started soaking it all up. By the mid-90's, DJ Fonzy was ready to speak with his own voice, finally finding expression in electronic music, and the encouragement and support of his own peers turned Fonzy's love of music into a passion for telling his own stories through music, drawing him into becoming a DJ. So, he loaned some money, bought an couple of old turntables, some speakers, a mixer, and has never looked back. He has since played at several clubs in California, as well as in Minnesota. Drawing from all that he had experienced in life, DJ Fonzy evokes a unique feel, distilling progressive, vocal, and hard driving styles of trance music into a language, a voice that will take you on a journey inside DJ Fonzy's mind, heart, through and back again, leaving you with a sense of oneness, of belonging, a deeper sense of yourself and him, a connection, a doorway somehow into his own soul, and a yearning for more.
