InfluencesI would say growing up.......well I got my first guitar when I was 12. I kind of taught myself how to play guitar so I could sing out....I kind of was influenced by the singer-songwriter types...Cat Stevens, Joni Mitchell, Carol King, Janis Ian... Vocally however that was a different story...I was influenced by the powerful rock and soulful voices......Linda Ronstadt, Melissa Manchester, Ann Wilson, Rosemary Butler, Robert Plant, Aretha Franklin, Donna Summer, I even have to admit that I have Barbara Streisand song books in my collection....she just keeps getting better....and I don't know how...it's incredible!!!........... Way before my first guitar........I do remember that my sister's Beatle albums being very important to me growing up. I remember bringing one for "show and tell" when I was in first grade!!!! A little later in my preteen life I really loved Paul McCartney's solo phase before Wings..... Billy Joel is another awesome writer. All of those past and still hitmakers...they really knew/know how to milk that 3-chord chord progression!!!!! All of that music still is so awesome today...... Although I really look back at the masters......I would have to say that the songwriters of today that influence me would be definitely Etheridge, Mellencamp, Morrissette...straight forward songwriting....no gimmicks.... no need for too many bells and whistles!!!....Art is subjective...It's all good!!!!!!
Sounds LikeI think I have my own sound but I've been compared to many great ones..........Bonnie Raitt, Melissa Etheridge, Dar Williams, Jewel, Janis Joplin, Linda Ronstadt, Taylor Dayne...Ann Wilson of Heart..........even Cher!!!!!
SOME OF MY FAVORITE ROCK 'N' ROLL VIDEO......OMG......IT'S ME AND THE BOYS....FRANK, JOHN & SCOTT...THANKS ROBERTA FOR COMING OUT TO THAT CROWDED FRANKFORT FALL FEST...WHERE IT WAS 1000 DEGREES IN THE SHADE......THANKS FOR SHOOTING THIS INFORMAL VIDEO...

SOME OF MY FAVORITE ROCK 'N' ROLL MOVIES......

Phylis Renee Marconi has been singing almost all of her life. Starting out early in her career with just her guitar, she has since woven through a long thread of bands. She reaches many different audiences due to her church singing as well as her pop/rock singing. Phyliss style has been categorized as bluesy/rock/roots/Americana. When fronting her own band, Phyl n the Cracks a.k.a. Phylodendron, she was featured on radio personality Jonathon Brandmeiers morning show on WLUP-FM. She has since been featured on other Chicago radio programs including "Local Color" on WJJG-AM, "I Do, I Do" on WCKG-FM , a Singer Spotlight feature on WZRD-FM, Northeastern Illinois University Radio and also Local Playground on WMKB-FM. Phylis has showcased her music at many fine Chicago venues (Abbey Pub, Beat Kitchen, Fitzgerald's, Schuba's, Uncommon Ground). She has also been a guest on Muse, an arts program aired through Comcast in Chicago. She performed two songs from her first demo cd. That same cd earned a review from the Musesmuse songwriters cyber magazine and also a finalist placement in the Sennheisers Evolution Mics Band Contest in February of 2000. In summer 2001, a live performance of Phylis's "Meet Me At The Café" floated around in the top 200 (out of 10,000 songs) for several weeks at MP3.com. Her song "Meet Me At The Café" was also included on a compilation disc distributed at the Midwest Music Summit held in Indianapolis, IN in summer 2001 and Phylis performed at the summit in summer 2002. Her cd "Ill Find My Way" is being distributed at some Barnes & Noble and Borders locations as well online at CDBaby, Tower Records, iTunes and Rhapsody (to name a few) . In January 2002, "Make Your Path" co-written by Phylis made it to semi-finalist status in the Chick Singer Night National Song Competition. You'll find the latest review of Phyliss cd "I'll Find My Way" at ChicagoGigs.com. In April 2002 & October 2003, Phylis was featured in several local editions of The Star Newspaper and The Daily Southtown. Since debuting in June 2003, Phylis is continuing to enjoy standing room success after assuming the role as co-producer and co-host of Singer Spotlight Unplugged, an acoustic showcase featuring four singer-songwriters held the last Thursday of every month at Chicagos Uncommon Ground. In October 2003, Phylis performed an original song at Teacherpalooza held in Chicagos Grant Park sponsored by Washington Mutual. She competed for and walked away with a $15,000 grant for her local school district. Phylis performed at the MECA Music Conference in Chicago May 2004. Just completing her 2nd CD entitled Let Me In (to be released March 2006) Phylis has already received runner up status in VH1s Song Of The Year contest on some of the included songs. Most recently (2008), "Daddy Please" co-written by Phylis and Roberta Annicks (PhylisReneeMarconiMusic & Songs2ShareMusic ASCAP), received Honorable Mention in the Billboard's World Song Contest 2007. Phylis is an ASCAP member. She continues to write, perform, co-produce her showcase and record her own music. www.phylisreneemarconi.com

Hi! Just wanted to make sure all my friends know that my 2nd horror novel SACRIFICE is now in stores everywhere, including Amazon.com! I hope you'll check out this debauched and demonic horror ride! Here are a couple reviews it's gotten so far:

“SACRIFICE is a full frontal assault on your senses. It is a dark, brutal, bloody and terribly frightening book. Everson went deep into some dark abyss to bring this book to the light of day.... I highly recommend SACRIFICE.”
—Famous Monsters of Filmland

“John Everson manages in SACRIFICE to dispense buckets of blood, provide edgy perversity, and walk the tenuous tightrope of horror and sex without falling: It’s rather an amazing feat.” –Hell Notes

Hey there,

Here's one from left field...

Ever wondered what to do in the event of a nuclear threat?

A while ago I found stuff that inspired me to make this film:

Living Under the Shadow of the Nuclear Umbrella

Both artistic (ensure you get the background music!) and educational, it primarily comprises official British government civil defence advice.

Though source materials are quite aged, much remains relevant today.

I encourage all to visit the YouTube page to learn more (Show support! Rate! Comment!) and responsibly circulate as widely as possible, here:

Help to raise awareness.

Say have you checked out my web site recently?

Take care and keep in touch.

Best,
Faber.
