The Monte Kaolino is a 120m high sand mountain in Hirschau, Bavaria (Germany). It is basically the result of centuries of kaolin mining in this area. A waste form of this industry, the bright quarz sand, has been heaped up and today has become the landmark of the city of Hirschau. Its approximately 35 million tons of sand make it unique in the world.
You can test your physical condition by climbing up through the loose sand or take the convenient lift to the top. From there you get an impressive view of the Upper Palatinate region. Ski down, sandboard down, roll down or jump down - it's up to you but it's definately great fun!
Down on the ground, enjoy a refreshing bath in the 2007 opened new swimming pool area or have a cold drink the modern restaurant "Piazza del Monte".
Whatever activities you prefer, the Monte Kaolino offers a great variety, that you will hardly find all at the same time in another place.
And when it comes to Sandboarding and the annual Sandboarding WM, well, this is the place to be!

.. Das Tanzüberfall-Spektakel kreiert aus der feierwütigen Partymasse, purer Female-Djane-Power, der unersättlichen Tanzlust und atemberaubender Musik werden diesen Abend im Mai zu einem weiteren unvergesslichen Event in der Rakete machen.
