Pickleweed is Jeff, pop rock banjo pioneer from Ohio; Ron, South Jersey guitarist with the occasional mullet; Danika, Salicornia expert and DM-trained bassist; Bart, Sacramento urban cowboy by day, drummer extraordinaire by night; and Nathan (NMC, Nate Train), '209 native', artist, and back-up drummer extraordinaire.
Influences
hand-crafted Kentucky bourbon whiskey, Miller High Life Light, internet dating and the rain that falls on Saturdays...
Pickleweed (Salicornia virginica) - a halophylic plant of wetlands....
Jersey attitude, Midwestern values and a California climate… Early in 2006, song concepts were crafted from life experiences and local historical events, and debuted after copious amounts of whiskey or beer... By late 2006, Jeff enlisted the distractions of guitarist Ron and drummer Bart, and Pickleweed was born. In February of 2007, Danika joined the lineup after picking up her first musical instrument, bass guitar, a mere 2 months prior.
(Catch us live, as our sound bits are limited by the number of mics we own… rock!)
