Picture Atlantic was formed in early 2006, coming out of the South Bay Area music scene of California. Gaining recognition for their melodic rock sound, in an area over saturated by Metal and Hardcore, Picture Atlantic quickly carved out their own musical niche.
With the help of Castle Ultimate Studios, they then recorded their debut EP titled "Change is Welcome". The EP brought Picture Atlantic into the local music scene through the internet, and word of mouth.
Wanting to try something new, and push away from their current sound, they then headed back into the studio, and began producing a large batch of new songs for a full length.Picture Atlantic spent the next year writing "Kleos", their first full length album.
"Kleos" was released in June of 2008. In July, Picture Atlantic spent two weeks touring California and won the opportunity to open for Coldplay at the HP Pavilion in San Jose. This quickly brought the South Bay and Bay Area to awareness of Picture Atlantic's new sound and album. More shows in the surrounding area quickly established them in San Francisco, and the San Joaquin Valley. With three west coast tours already in the bag, Picture Atlantic sees no end to their campaign of music.
