Influences
Although we are often "under" the influence, it's hard to pin down who makes our musical juices flow. POJ is an eccletic bunch of guys with roots in R&B, Funk, Rock, Alternative, Party, Metal and Contemporary Country (yeah right). We're inspired by girls who show their goods for a free t-shirt and waitresses who don't get bent about bringing a drink to the stage once in a while. But mainly, we're influenced by YOU. We still do this band thing because you all will still come hear us, that makes us all warm and fuzzy inside.
Sounds Like
The best vocalist in the area, bluesy guitar riffs, keys out yer ass and a back-beat you can't lose. POJ plays the best set of cover tunes around... from Stevie Wonder, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Pink Floyd, J. Geils and Joe Cocker to brand-new stuff from Seether, Theory of a Deadman, Weezer, Buck Cherry, Queensryche and Alice in Chains.
The Dirty Bird was great again this past show. Great having our old regular peeps who continue to support us. And the new Party Girls kick ass. Guess we should rename that group, the whole Party Girl name thing is as tired and worn out as they are. But let's not get into that here, some people are very sensitive and take things way too seriously. So, thanks for the fun, hope your new band rocks half as much as we do. :) And thanks to our real friends who continue to come out and support us, we love you guys!
We're working on some new shows, the summer schedule is a little sparse do to some scheduling problems we had concerning previous lives and concerns. Now that those are out of the way, we can get down to business. Hoping to get some more shows booked at John's Big Deck, Side Pockets and possibly a new bar, Tonahills. Thanks to Crazy Bitch Donna and Gruff for hooking us up with the Tonahills camp, we look forward to getting some shows there.
And as always... When you come up to us at the shows and say "play something we can dance to" you're wasting your breath! We know you can dance to anything we pull out. (he said "pull out") BUT... if we don't know it, we don't know it. SO HERE'S THE SOLUTION...

Thanks for the good times all weekend. It was a blast, as always. Between bad keyboard playing, on my part, hard hats, hats with lights, bong water buttons, and "love stinks" buttons.......it was memorable.
