Born in Turin, Italy and raised and educated between England and the United States, PIERO PASSATORE considers himself a citizen of the world. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Film and Theater from the City University of New York Baccalaureate Program and has a Master of Arts Degree in American Studies from the University of Turin. Piero is the proprietor of Passatore Productions, a small production company based in Turin, Italy, whose main mission is to develop and produce feature length films with international appeal that aim, from the very inception and conceptual development, to be internationally distributed. Passatore Productions specializes in producing films that are set in Italy, taking full advantage of Turin’s and the Piedmont region’s natural, architectural and scenic beauty; have international casts; and are primarily filmed in English. Passatore Productions also provides production companies translation services from Italian to English and English to Italian, ideal for the preparation of dialogues and subtitles, and produces quality short films, music videos, and documentaries. The most recent translation commissions include: On the Road to Daytona, a documentary for the Discovery Channel; I Moscerini and Il Pavimento, two short stories for Italian author Roberto Rossi; I Diffidati, a screenplay for Verni Productions; Pensieri Segretti, screenplay by Pasquale Ruju (Dylan Dog comic books) for Cabiria Pictures; (Eu)demonia, an epic poem by Giuseppina Amodei for Fabrizio Portalupi; and Bianco e Nero, screenplay by Simone Nipote. In addition to managing his production company, Piero has also dedicated much of his time to developing his thespian career. All throughout college, he acted in numerous college plays and short films, as well as working on large film and television sets such as Rescue Me, Third Watch, Law & Order. He was also a staff theater and film critic for two weekly college publications, The Brooklyn College Kingsman and the Hunter College Envoy. However, his professional acting career took off in 2006, when he acting in three feature films: The Etruscan Mask by Ted Nicolaou, Appuntamento ad Ora Insolita by Stefano Coletta, and La Via Via Del Peccato by Paolo Chiambretto. Piero’s accomplishments include his role as Director, Co-producer, Screenwriter, Editor and Lead Actor in the music video of critically acclaimed Blues singer Dario Lombardo’s Lonesome Blues, which was an official selection at the 2007 Cyborg Film Festival, La Cittá in Corto, Corso Visione 2007 and Visionaria 2007. He also wrote, directed, and edited the video art piece Progetto 999: Il Fuoco Che é in Te, an art exhibition on the theme of fire at the Ecomuseo del Settimo, which in 2007 was screened at the Troppea Film Festival, the Invasione Dei Ultra Corti Film Festival, The Cyborg Film Festival, VideoCorto Nettuno Film Festival, Corto Visione Film Festival and the Visionaria Film Festival. In the world of Hip-Hop, Piero directed and co-produced 2Night Television’s Notte Bianca Olimpica and RTL Television’s A Thursday Night with DJ Mesta; he also shot, produced, and edited DJ Mesta’s new music video Reggaeton Anthem 2008, and did camerawork and second unit directing for Esa’s videoclip Salta Abordo. Lastly, for the Italian Community Theatre of Benzenhurst, New York, he directed the play Piú Grande by playwright Angelo Rago. Piero’s current projects have teamed him up with several well-known writers, producers, and directors and promise to propel him with repute into the world of feature films. He is currently producing the feature length film In The Eyes of Joana (written by Judianny Compres and directed by Fellipe Barbosa), has co-written and is co-producing Pensieri Segreti (co-written by Pasquale Ruju and Fabrizio Portalupi and directed by Fabrizio Portalupi) in collaboration with Cabiria Productions, and is directing and co-producing a documentary about Italy’s hip hop culture with Wintergecko Studios, Precision Publishing, and Detour Productions Pizza, Pasta, Mafia & Hip Hop. Piero has always ardently believed that in order to be a successful producer and director one must also have first-hand knowledge of and experience in all other roles involved in the production and realization of a film. Progetto 999 : Il fuoco che è in te (Video Art)

Italian rappers that could benefit from low budget music videos made by a future auter film director, meaning me. All Italian rap artists would benefit a lot from well made, meaning written, directed, and edited music videos. Things that are original, have personality and film making craft to them. I think that every mix tape or album demo should have at least one video circulating on youtube or metacafe. But if the videos are directed by the rappers themselves, who never went to film school nor have worked on a professional film set, then maybe having them circulate too much on youtube is not a great idea. Then I would like to meet and establish professional relationships with various film people in general. Mainly screenwriters, actors (in Italy or close by), directors, assistant editors, and especially producers who have an I for talent and our actually out looking for it.
