The ceremony will take place on Tuesday, September 9th 2008 in the Sint-Joseph church in Waterloo at 11.00 am.
Born May 24th 1952, a choir singer and chamber orchestra violinist as
a child, then folk singer-guitarist at 15, I studied at Berklee (arranging-composition) at 19, became a session guitarist (on many million albums)
in the 70's, hit-song writer and avant-garde guitarist in the 80's, film composer -
music theorist - teacher (and student) in Africa in the 90's, and may be musician
in this decade (or next life). My music has been recorded by such wonderful
musicians as Frank Foster and Freddy Green with the Count Basie Orchestra, Steve Coleman, Aka Moon, Byard Lancaster, Deborah Brown, Toots Thielemans, Lizz Wright... and I played in concert with Philip Catherine, Reggie Washington, Slide Hampton, Bill Frisell, Billy Hart, Bob Stewart, Soriba Kouyate, Greg Osby, David Gilmore, Marc Ducret,
Magic Malik... also invited to contribute to my friends' records (Tribu, Thôt, and
wrote "North Country Suite" for Octurn / cd: De Werf 2007).
"FOUR PRINCIPLES TO UNDERSTAND MUSIC" est plus qu'un testament musical. Est clair, pedagigique, je me sert beaucoup pour les cours ici au Brésil. Merci encore Pierre pour ce cadeau super. Tu est trés present.
I had no idea, am shocked to read this and very sad. I hope you are playing music with the angels in heaven, that's where you were from anyway, my beautiful friend.
Comment quelqu'un que je voyais finalement si peu peut-il me manquer autant? Impossible d'arreter , je continue à trouver des nouvelles et primordiales questions à te soumettre. Mais je ne peux que rever tes reponses. Comme je reve la musique.
We'd like to apologize for the highly misplaced comment below. We were unaware of what had happened. Our hearts go out to this wonderful musician and to all the people he loved, and who will always love him.
today in the morning we got a message that you passed away. the last comment under this was written not being aware of this stroke. we generated it using our friends list - the superficially myspace way of making some promotion. we are deeply afflected about the situation. we really love music and we love all the people who live their lifes for that wonderful passion. your music is so gentle, affectionate and inspirational. our thoughts are with you. margaret and apoll
no more solo voice and bass at the moment but fun with all the instruments leaning around in the studio. 5 new songs and lots of fresh pictures on our refaced profil. this is some of the output of a wonderful summertime. enjoy it and see you soon
