..B I O in ITALIANO.... .. ......Pietro Valente.. was born in Padua on April 29th 1982 and started to play drums at the age of 8. .. He started to perform since he was 15, with some rock bands arround Padua . .. ..He decided to become a professional musician in 2001, after graduated at the high school, when he entered ....Università della Musica di Roma.... (a famous Italian music college in Rome). .. There, he studied with some the best teachers in Italy : like Maurizio Dei Lazzaretti, Pietro Iodice, John Arnold, Davide Pettirossi, Gaetano Fasano and ....graduated in 2006 with jazz drum specialization with the top mark..... .. ..From 2004 to 2007 he worked as drum teacher at Centro Musicale Beethoven in the modern music section: C.A.M.M .. ..In 2005 he was called from Veneto Jazz to be the assistant-translator of John Riley for the New School (New York) summer workshop in Bassano del Grappa. .. ....At the 2006 Umbria Jazz Summer Clinics ..he had been chosen, as best drummer, to perform at the 2006 Umbria Jazz Winter.. festival and few weeks later ..he was the only one drummer to win the scholarship at Siena Jazz Clinics..... .. ..He performed in some of the most important music festivals in Italy and Asia : Umbria Jazz Winter, Taichung Jazz Festival, Kaushung Lantern Festival, Porsche Jazz Festival, Shanghai JZ Festival, International Music Meeting, Veneto jazz, Festival di Verdura, Vicenza jazz, Parco Delta Jazz. .. ..He played in several different orchestras like: the Royal Big Band(for the opening of 2006 Porsche Jazz Festival) in that occasion directed by Bruno Tommaso with guest Pietro Tonolo, the Shanghai JZ All Star Big Band, the Orchestra Italiana di Musica Leggera directed by Diego Basso(recording also "Stelle e Note di Natale" a program broadcasted on RAI 2, the italian national TV), the Jam Orchestra, the Orchestra Giovanile del Veneto. .. ..In April 2007 he played in some jazz clubs ..in Taiwan.. with his trio and he held.. two drums workshop... .... ..From August 2007 to May 2008 he lived in ......Asia.., during this period ..he recorded three CDs for the Better Music of Taipei.. and performed with the top musicians of Taiwan and China . .. ..In 2009 ..the CD “REFLECTION” .. ..recorded with the pianist Suchi Wu has ..won the ..“GOLDEN MELODY AWARD”. ...... ..Now, including collaborations with musicians in Italy and Taiwan he has got a project entitled: .."Tales from the Far East" ..(with Michele Polga on saxophone, Marco Ponchiroli on piano and Danilo Gallo on double-bass) in which he perform his own originals inspired by his amazing experiences and travels in Asia(China, Taiwan, India, Thailand...). .. ..This project has been chosed from “Circolo Jazz Verona ” to be produced into a CD ..(award to the best young talent of the year) wich will be pubblished by FREECOM in October 2009. ....
