Mary also drums in D'astro. Ste also sings in Cowtown.

Heavier than they might originally seem, yet rooted in the experimental / indie school, the pair keep it raw, noisy and always slightly sinister and disturbing.
If The Wedding Present had recorded an album while all the members were experiencing exceedingly bad trips, it might have sounded like this. EDDIE THOMAS, Subba-Cultcha.com
There will be a brand new spanking Pifco album, a cd no less, released
on Run Of The Mill Records on July 14th.
It is called 'Pifco-A-Go-Go' and is available to buy from the Run Of The Mill website and Myspace.
It is also available for download on (just click the button if you want it)
You will also be able to get your hands on it at gigs and hopefully in some good record shops, distributed by Cargo.
Tracks have been played on Radio 1 by Huw Stephens and on Radio 6 by Stuart Maconie, who are both big fans and think this album is fantastic.
you can buy this tape from us or via chinchilla-tone records.
There is also a 7" single, on glorious pink vinyl, of us and Bilge Pump playing Jonathan Richman songs, available from Run Of The Mill Records, at gigs or in some good record shops.
Its been selling faster than we expected, and we currently only have around a quarter of our stock left - so we thought we'd better you all know that if you want a copy then now would be a good time to pick one up! If you buy it from the link above then you're buying it direct from us, the label aren't taking a cut - so its a bit like Fair Trade for struggling musicians.
International mail-order is available, just follow the instructions.
Thank you very much, and sorry for making a mess of your profile. If its any kind of consolation, we don't have a MySpace bot, so I'm leaving these comments the old fashioned way. Three -and-a-half thousand of them. My life is so exciting.
Yo Pifco Yo! Thanks for playing on thursday. It was fantastique xx

ZOMES are a three piece band from Baltimore, USA, playing live at The Alexandra Vaults in Saltburn on Friday 6th March. Zomes founder, Asa Osbourne, is a member of the legendary band, Lungfish, who have 10 albums released on Washington DC's Dischord Records. Zomes sees Asa joined by sound artist Andrew Hayleck (known for his field recordings of natural ice formations) and Baltimore oil painter, Jordan Kasey. Together they create lo-fi experimental rock which sits on the spaced out and looped side of the fence.
QUACK QUACK are a three-piece prog/kraut/rock/jazz band from Leeds. No strangers to Saltburn, they performed an energetic live set to a small and pleasantly surprised audience at the Victoria in January. They have recorded a session for Huw Stephen's radio 1 show and have CD and vinyl releases on Saltburns' own 'Run Of The Mill Records' label.
Wavves Straight outta California on their first ever tour. You’ll feel like a frisky 19 year at some awesome beach party as their blown-out, catchy as hell pop washes into your ears. Touring as a duo, but really the brainchild of some 22 year old, you’ll find Wavves records out on De Stijl, Tic Tac Totally and Woodsist. There’s some Doo Wop, JAMC, No Age stuff going on here. Pens Three young girls outta London, who have a real knack for writing total tunes. On tour with Wavves, they also have an LP coming out the on De Stijl in the US following a sold out tape and 7″. Easily one of the best new UK bands. Mazes So the new crop of UK bands are here, fitting with all the killer stuff coming out of America right now and these kids have gone and written some of the best songs of the whole bunch. As well as all that stuff and some Pavement, they’ve also got an ear open to the likes of Swell Maps and Television Personalities. From Manchester, this will be their first show. Hipshakes Fastest, trashest band you’ll ever see. From their chaotic live show, you’ll just make out some real snappy pop gems under their tinnitus triggering wall of guitar noise. Just out of their teens and have already released an LP - with a 2nd on the way and 8 7″ singles, one on the Black Lips own label, another on an Oblivians Goner imprint - yeah they’re a Garage Punk band!
SAT 28TH FEB. AT THE FENTON, LEEDS. DOORS 7.30PM. ENTRY IS FIVE POUNDS
BILGE PUMP have been playing their idio(t)syncratic rock for over 15 years. As well as songs appearing on 7" and compilations, Bilge have released two tape only albums and have another two albums on Nottingham's Gringo Records. Popular with the late JOHN PEEL, they recorded two Peel sessions and got plenty of airtime on his Radio 1 show.
PIFCO comprises Steve on guitar and vocals, and Mary on drums and keyboards. They write prolifically and have a CD album out on Run Of The Mill Records. Radio 1's Huw Stephens played it on his show and decided it was his album of the week. Not bad.
CHINCHILLA ALMOST CHRISTMAS TIME PARTY ANTICS PRESENT..
DODDODO (OSAKA, JAPAN – ADAADAT) STIG NOISE SOUND SYSTEM (LIVERPOOL, U.K – CLASS A AUDIO) COWTOWN (LEEDS, U.K – CHINCHILLA-TONE/ONTHEBONE)
WEDNESDAY 17TH DECEMBER SANDIAGO’S 1 Grand Arcade, Leeds, LS1 6PG DOORS - 8 P.M PRICE - £5
DODDODO is a one woman brutal noise pop show from Osaka, japan. Expect broken down joyfully fried breakcore hip-hip party music made with shitty toy samplers and pedals. On adaadat record, home of gay against you, dj scotch egg and ove naxx among others.
“DODDODO makes cute cut-up mayhem. Low and dirty beats are mashed with toy melodies; found sounds, country music and banjos, and gut wrenching vocals. Live, DODDODO is masked in braids and ribbons, but unmistakeable. Using toys and other mysterious apparatus to operate equipment, samples and loops build up into frenzied spastic broken beats, which she tops off with deep-throat treatment for her microphone. With the whole mic in her mouth, she howls, talks, sings and screams, loading and reloading the sampler with equal parts kawaii and death metal. ”

Hauschka Having studied classical piano for ten years, Dusseldorf-based pianist/composer Volker Bertelmann's work as Hauschka is based upon a playful exploration of the possibilities of the 'prepared' piano. His resulting tracks are vivid, unconventional pieces made in a spirit of playful research-enthusiasm, which he's taken around the world - in the USA with Múm, in Japan with Colleen, and a debut, sold-out London show with Max Richter. Hauschka's music is a thing of beauty - intertwined melodies and rythyms that flit between gorgeously lush and complex and stunning minimalism.
Gareth S. Brown With influences as diverse as Eastern European folk music, funeral marches and jewellery boxes, Gareth creates gorgeous work of layered beauty with nods towards Philip Glass, Terry Riley and Michael Nyman as well as latter day travellers such as Max Richter, Yann Tiersen and Aphex Twin.

Sic Alps - San Fransisco two piece setting the bar for bands doing the modern psych/folk/sloptastic JAMC sound. What sets Sic Alps apart from the rest is their unique ability to mash the rough edge of the folk strum, cutting songs with razor sharp candor, and artfully landing somewhere between flowery optimism and filthy regret. Stylistically, they're are all over the place too, incorporating jazzy freak outs, the sincere tinkering of piano keys, and muddy, down-trodden rhythms. Not easily pinned down into a specific sound or genre, Sic Alps reiterate their freedom of form with each successive release. With a musical pedigree second to none, with both members doing time in such outfits as Coachwhips, Hospitals and Total Shutdown. Already notorious for their exciting and energetic live performances, they've released music on Mt. St. Mtn, 777 was 666, Animal Disguise, Woodsist and Skulltones and their new LP has just been released by Tom Lax's legendary Siltbreeze label. So come on down and experience the madness of Sic Alps.
With supports from Leeds' deranged strum and bash trio THE UPRIGHTS and Sheffield's kings of manic retardo punk THE HIPSHAKES (Black Lips' Die Slaughterhaus label, Goner), this should be a night you won't forget!
AT THE ROYAL PARK CELLARS, Queens Road, Hyde Park, Leeds, LS6 1NY
The idea is simple: eight bands play across two stages in the same venue - four chosen by renowned local DIY promoters Forest of Sound, four chosen by fantastic local independent label Gizeh Records. All bands play consecutively so the audience gets to see everything.
