Pigeonhed was formed by Steve Fisk and Shawn Smith(me) with the help of Jonathon Poneman in May 1992. Jon rented us some gear and we went to work in Steves pad called "Scud"(I think) which was next door to Cyclops in downtown Seattle. The rest of the summer we spent recording our debut. The time spent would define a style and a friendship that would endure for many years to come......

pigeonhed really was the grandest influence on this small corner of the universe (Detroit) during the winters of '96 thru '99. i came to understand the value of gritty sampling loops, magnificent emotional textures of the keys, and the graceful raw funk that hid behind the Sub Pop. I have devoured all things Pigeonhed, Brad, Satchel, Shawn Smith, Twilight Daughters, etc. Please keep on keepin' on.<a
there was a time when every day was filled with pigeonhed & satchel over here in detroit...a little brad here and there. the brad show at st. andrews was very moving, at a time when i was deep into teenagers live forever sessions and it's a time i will always cherish. keep on keepin' on. heh.
