FIRST THINGS FIRST: A LITTLE HISTORY ON ROLLER DERBY
Founded by a man named Leo Seltzer, roller derby first came to life in 1935. It is the ONLY sport, besides basketball, created by an American. Roller Derby has seen many ups and downs through out the decades...and is back in big BIG way. The sport still resembles its traditional roots, but has been updated with a rock N' ROLL / delinquent edge. It's full of roBUST personality and continues to this day to be TOP-NOTCH entertainment. Think BURLESQUE meets X-games!!

The Pikes Peak Derby Dames first surfaced in the summer of 2005, when ONE girl from Colorado Springs decided to take on the challenge of starting up a roller derby coalition in her home town. Founded by SLUGS-N-KISSES, the league has been growing on girl at a time ever since.
WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO BECOME A DERBY DAME???
When you become a Pikes Peak Derby Dame, you join forces with a group of fun and fearless women, who have one thing in common: We believe Roller Derby is the greatest sport ever invented!
PPDD seeks and accepts women 18+ who have a desire to become strong, athletic and competative skaters.
The Pikes Peak Derby Dames is an all-inclusive league, meaning we accept ALL women. However, certain skills are required in order to play in public bouts.
To be a Pikes Peak Derby Dame you will NEED to be motivated and productive, with a drive to succeed.

As badly as I would love to cheer my hometown Saddletramps (Woot, woot for Peaches), Colorado being my new home (and most fav place I have ever lived) I gotta cheer on you guys! So stoked! Can't wait!
