Good books, film, film and more film, plays and musicals. Sondheim music, piano, Chopin, Mozart, Richard Strauss, etc. Beatles, all of it. Singing as much as possible. Brazilian Jazz, so wonderful. Hiking, swimming, traveling, being willing to get better as a person. Would love to learn Portuguese fluently again. French too.
Music
I listen to Jazz most of the time....then classical. I have so many favorites it goes all over the place. I can be listening to Pat Metheny then change it to Opera arias then go to Gabriel Faure. Of course, like I mentioned before, Brazilian Jazz blows me away. Gaetano Veloso, Gilberto Gil, Jobim, Evan Lins, Cayammi, the list is endless. I love singing so many different kinds of music. I love Gershwin, Sondheim, Lloyd-Weber, Kander and Ebb and all the stuff in between.
Movies
My Brilliant Career, anything directed by Peter Weir or Steven Soderborgh, then I'll watch Dolores Claiborne just for Kathy Bates performance. I love Australian films and then the British films are wonderful. Enchanted April and the Ladies in Lavender are small works of magnificent art. Any Jane Austen film, anything with Gerard Butler in it, Elizabeth, Shakespeare in Love, Howards End, Room with a View, there are many more but I'll have to come
back later with them. Just saw "A Very Long Engagement". those French really know how to make "A Film". Fabulous!!!

I have very eclectic tastes in literature....All of Jane Austens works, War and Peace/Tolstoy, anything by Wayne Dyer, David Sedaris is hilarious. Memoirs of a Geisha was a wonderful read. In the middle of Mountains beyond Mountains about Dr. Paul Farmer. Amazing human being. There are so many good books

Yay! Thats great your in LA, I thought seattle was still your home. I'm right at the foot of Mount Washington, near where the 5 hits the 2. Please come share a hug and a few stories. Will be without transportation most of the day tomorrow and will likely leave wednes morn. Maybe you can bring a couple bananas if you come! I go through them like crazy in smoothies and funds are super duper tight (as for most of the world right now).
