Sounds Like
Three thousand people all eating Marmite sandwiches in unison. [Well, it was a silly question anyway... we sound like the music that comes out of the little digital mp3 player thingy in the top righthand corner.]
Incredible String Band, Oysterband, Shooglenifty, Bob Dylan, Jethro Tull, Alistair Hulett, Pogues, Steeleye Span, Fairport Convention, folk music.
Also apparently if reviewers are to be believed: Tymon Dogg, Roy Harper, Al Stewart, Dave Moss, Tim Booth.
Pillowfish are a tolerably tall duo from the Bohemian outback. Their bouzouki and viola based sound has been described variously as ‘folk meets King Crimson’, ‘chocolate for the ears’ and ‘not really our cup of tea’. They do, however, cater for audiences who enjoy an eclectic range of other beverages…

Twas nice meeting you both last night, i really enjoyed your music. The song Morning is a beautiful song by the way, really like the harmonies. Please forgive my ignorance, I had not heard of the Bouzouki! It looked 12 string-ish from a distance! Hope to see you again sometime. All the best, Robin.
Hello! Thanks for the add! I hope our paths cross at a festival one day soon and we can share beer and music time! Have a great summer! :) Vicki & Jonny

Looking forward to seeing you (& hearing your great music) at Skipton FC on Tuesday. Also hope to have a Floor Spot supporting you!
I would also be grateful if you could provide your feedback on this new track on my player - SWAN FLIES.
It's from my CD from last year (still rebuilding data after my old laptop crashed 6 months ago - so no copies available at present - Watch This Space)
The track features Grace Notes on Vocals (to help me sound better than I deserve). Grace Notes are Maggie Boyle, Helen Hockenhull & Lynda Hardcastle. Maggie also plays the flutes on the track. More info about Grace Notes and Maggie Boyle HERE
SWAN FLIES was played on air by Tim Moon in Folk Us! 43 on BCB Radio in 2006 (Archived at Radio Britfolk CLICK HERE TO LISTEN AGAIN)
It's about 10 minutes into the program, after Elvis Costello and Richard Thompson and before an interview with Simon Nicol of Fairport Convention (Grand company, indeed!).
In his introduction, Tim said "......it's a good little album this......very very nice, professionally produced......well worth playing a track for you......I think it'll charm you."
Hello and thankyou for the friendyship! Hope you like some of the tunes that are up and with your approval we intend to work out, write around and record for myspace use the viola riff from seven stolen stars (we cant write our own tunes). Cheers, and remember, live life to the kesh!
Thanks for the bozouki website, they're some nice instruments. Best start saving up. Was nice to meet you on Monday, if not somewhat unexpected. Who'd have thought id meet folk musicians at a folk club??? Although if there is a risk of bands such as yourself turning up i will have to get some more tunes learnt and learnt well! Although to be fair i do have a fear of performing so i wasnt really playing at my best. See you sometime, hopefully soon. Cheers, Hooper
Snap!. Indeed, your friend was right, Fingerprints And Smudges and The Flowers And The Guns mirror each other's sentiments. I loved F&S - I put up TFATG on my page, check it out.
Hope to catch you sometime when I'm around your parts (probably not before summer at the earliest).
Dear Pillowfish. Firstly, id like to apologize for any ranting or complaining ive ever done in your direction ever through your comments space. Secondly and most importantly, im in a new folk band (profile coming when we get a name) who have taken great interest in seven stolen stars and outside looking in. We were wondering if you could email the music (complete with chords and lyrics if possible) to hooperman1990@yahoo.co.uk so that we may decide on one to play, since the only songs of our own we have going are a drinking song i wrote, mindless poetry about an evil leprechaun and a reel i wrote for a pretty girl who i later found out has a boyfriend. Any help would be greatly appreciated and once we've got a name and a full set we'll put a profile with dates and send out gig invites at which point you could come watch us. Cheers, Hooper
