Don't Click This Link (or an agent from T.E.D. Industries will be on you like flies on shit)
"The Pilots Dared Me To Die" used to be a group of studio musicians, bought and paid for by T.E.D. Industries, and their front company, "Mrs. Schwefley's" to do their in-house jingles at their company stores, back in the 22nd century. Later on, after the acquisition of all the world's terrestrial radio and internet rights in perpetuity by T.E.D. industries, The Pilots were hired to write the propaganda songs and lyrics for the world's most popular networked FM radio station, K.P.L.T. Forced to write paeans to wanton violence and evil deeds by the T.E.D. police, The Pilots created enough material to supply top-40 station KPLT for three and a half years. Only the intervention of Kitty M'row Bacon and her cadre of psychic pigs was able to free the Pilots from their dark drudgery, and they escaped to what they thought was sanctuary deep in the basement of Dr. Spooky's modernist mansion in Big Tujunga Canyon. However, once they found out that the evil Doctor merely planned on keeping the Pilots chained up in her basement to use as her backup band, and even worse, she only wanted to rehearse one song, her self-penned "masterpiece" "Why Is My Life This Way? I Deserve So Much Better!", the Pilots spiked her bourbon with truth serum and what they called "corn squeezin's" and escaped North to Modesto to hide in the abandoned church of The Reverend Billy Lard, whom had drank the kool-aid with the last of his flock months ago, shortly before the T.E.D. Police took his organization down. Deep down in the basement of the church, the Pilots found a mint-condition Dodge Dart from centuries ago, with a strange glow radiating from the dashboard. Huddled inside the car for warmth, the Pilots triggered a holographic message from the good Reverend that clued them in to the fact that the car was actually a time machine, and their mission, should they choose to accept it, was to pick his sorry ass up in the past before he drank the poison kool-aid, and proceed on to the mid-twentieth century to kill the most evil man in history before he gained power. And thus, the quest to kill James Dean was on. Here's the universal James Dean reality test. If in your reality, you've never heard of James Dean, or remember him as merely an actor that died in a car accident, you live in an alternate reality facilitated by the Pilots. You're welcome. After the great work was done, the Pilots wanted to settle down in a time in which their music would be at least tolerated, if not appreciated, and chose the 2000's. For the most part, they stayed together. New members were recruited from amongst the local population when original members ran off to join gypsy caravans and whiskey cults. It's a good life.
