« Blues feeling with rock energy » MAXIMUM VOLUME REQUIRED
This formation of four, from Rouen in France, is headed by the English singer, Carol-Ann Croft and French guitarist Laurent Magniez. They started at the bottom, doing all the bars, clubs and pubs until making a couple of big venues supporting international names like Ray Charles and Chuck Berry
Story: After having lived in London, where Carol-Ann hung out with the debutants at that time, Clash, Pretenders, Motorhead, to name a few, Carol left England for the continent and went to France . Her musicale quest, where the blues was her Graal, ended when she settled in Rouen and started up Izadora Gonzo in 1992, followed by Acoustic Soul Factory in 1999 and finally Pimento in 2000. Her path crossed some well known names like Wilco Johnson, (Dr. Feelgood,) Little Bob Story, Beverly Joe Scott, Dominique Laboubée (Dogs) just to name a few.
A change of musicians brought along Laurent Magniez, who came from the local rock scene and who became her writing partner for most of their original materiel. Together they have created their own sound based on their influences from the blues/rock scene of their heroes.
Be it slow and bluesy or hard and rocky, Pimento have found a way of injecting a certain passionate energy into all of their songs, which has become their musical imprint. The solid rhythm section allow Carol to express her vocal nuances while Laurent spins a web around her voice with his never tiring six strings.
There aren't many groups around that can boast 2 international supports in the Zenith. The first time in 2001 for Ray Charles, the genius himself, and in 2005 for the grand daddy of rock an roll Chuck Berry! Their reputation regional has been growing as time goes on, every concert has more and more followers, flooding to vibrate with them as they go through their burning hot repertoire.

Cette formation rouennaise de quatre musiciens menée au chant par Carol-Ann Croft et à la guitare par Laurent Magniez a sillonné bars, clubs et grandes scènes pour déverser toute sa fougue blues'n'groove dans un registre pub rock terriblement efficace.
Story... Après avoir tourné sur Londres et cotoyé Clash, Pretenders, Motörhead, Carol Croft quitte l'Angleterre et prend la route du vieux continent Europe. Elle se lance alors dans une quête frénétique où le blues est son Graal. Après avoir monté plusieurs formations (Izadora Gonzo, Acoustic Soul Factory) qui lui feront croiser le chemin du Dr Feelgood, elle s'installe définitivement en France, à Rouen. Cest là qu'elle rencontre Laurent Magniez, un guitariste qui tourne depuis plus de dix ans dans diverses formations Rock et Blues. Laurent et Carol se lancent alors dans le songwriting et dans l'aventure Pimento. Ils signent là le retour aux sources tant attendu : un son blues rock pur, enfiévré et endiablé.
Que ce soit au travers de blues lents et passionnés ou bien de morceaux « coup de poing », Pimento symbolise le mariage réussi du blues et de son enfant, le rock. La tradition 70's n'est pas loin mais c'est pourtant avec un son résolument moderne que le groupe fait chauffer les salles. Le groove de la section rythmique permet à Carol Croft de laisser s'exprimer toute sa puissance vocale et à Laurent de faire senvoler sa six cordes infatigable.
Il n'y a que peu de groupes qui peuvent s'enorgueillir d'avoir joué deux fois dans la grande salle du Zénith de Rouen, Pimento est de ceux-là. La première fois en 2001 c'était en ouverture de Ray Charles, et en 2005 ils avaient l'immense honneur de jouer en première partie de Chuck Berry lui-même ! Doit-on y ajouter les premières parties de Little Bob, Zach Praters, etc ? Pimento est un groupe dont la notoriété est bien assise dans sa ville natale, à chaque concert c'est un public grandissant qui est au rendez-vous.
