Gettin' down with the swagger of yore - ancient yore, no less! .. .... We play funk music. .... Not that new-fangled poseur “funk” that’s all the rage at the moment, but the real stuff. .... The good stuff. .... We’re talking ‘bout that old-school, syncopated funk/rock sound, baby, inspired by the likes of Hendrix, The Meters, P-Funk, the Chili Peppers and the Cruel Sea. .... Yeah, we all used to play in other bands you’ve probably never heard of. But we honed our craft, developed our chops, and when fate brought Pimpin’ Horus, we hit the ground running. .... We’ve done an alley-full of cool stuff round our native Adelaide, played a festival on the tip of SA, and done some scouting work in Melbourne to shmooze with the cream of their funk-rock scene (we’ll be back soon, baby…). We’ve won competitions, been involved with Jim Beam celebrations, and are currently sponsored by premium energy drink PimpJuice, which helps keep the Purple Army pumping all night – aw, keep it clean, we’re talking bout our loyal fans here, ya dig? .... We’ve released a debut EP, “Down for the Money”, which we’re mighty proud of, especially since the mastering process infused it with the same pedigree as legends like Jimi Hendrix and Led Zeppelin. .... Aw, don’t get upset, baby: we’re not saying we’re ..that.. good, just that sonically, our tracks will stand their own alongside anything else you care to flank ‘em with. .... And you’ll dig the actual songs too. We sure do, and we let that enjoyment translate into a fun and frenetic live show. .... We’d love to show you what we mean.
