My album is a "Solo" album, but I do have tracks on wax featuring Ken~Y, D Lee, A1, D~Swift, Big Keys, Big Shae, Taila Tane, and a few unmentionables.
Influences
My major influence are my two bad ass kids! Phillip and Phyllis. Lil Slap, and Baby Slap. I still gotta give Big Shots out to T.I, Rick Ross, Lil' Boosie (I aint gon forget about you boy), Lil Wayne, Joc, Jeez, and them Texas boys. Major Major shots out to the big artists' thats also on a bigger buisness level, such as Jay~Z, Diddy, Pharrel, and 50!
Phillip D. Washington a.k.a. "Pimp Slap" was born in East Palo Alto, California on April 6, 1981, to teen parents during the early eighties (80's). East Palo Alto had a soaring crime rate, unfortunately, the proverty rate was as high as the crime rate. "Momma Slap" and Pimp Slap's grandmother decided to leave the crime infested city and relocate to North Little Rock, Arkansas. The family settled into an area near Shorter Gardens, a well-known housing project in Central Arkansas.
Pimp Slap was predominately rasied by his mother and grandmother. When Pimp Slap was sixteen (16) his father was killed by a gun shoot to the head. During Pimp Slap's early years, he experienced a great deal of tragedy and hardships related to the deaths of family members and close friends. Prior to the murder of Pimp Slap's father, two of his dad's brothers died violent deaths. As years passed, many of the entertainer's close friends died also.
At the age of fourteen (14), the streets served as Pimp Slap's academic institution, from which he graduated at the top of the Dean's List. After accomplishing four (4) years as a Marine, Pimp Slap was honorably discharged to only begin hustling on the street for a number of years. Pimp Slap was arrested at the age twenty-two (22), on a minor drug possession charge. The following year he found himself in the system again, on five (5) gun charges, attempted murder (dropped), attempted armed robbery (dropped), and failure to abide by probationary laws.
Pimp Slap is not proud of his history, and there is no denying that his life has been a hell-of a roller coaster ride. Now that the drama has subsided, the artist is focused on his bright future. His tainted past provides a platform for him to deliver a positive message to his audience. Pimp Slap's debut album, Pimp Slap, Freshman of the year, appeals to various races, genders, and ages.
The entertainer's strategy for success is to put God first in his life, work hard, and remain committed to fulfilling his dreams. Above all promises Pimp Slap has ever made, he had sworn to bless his children with a father, something he didn't have in his life.
