Pinatubo Bay

PINATUBO BAY
- that name stands for powerful Ska tunes, smooth Rock Steady riddims & pushing Early Reggae grooves... and it's the name of the so-called "Tuebingen Offbeat Volcanoes", the group that has found together in November 2007. Soon brand-new tunes were created, which, next to famous Jamaican Ska and Reggae covers lead the way to Pinatubo Bay's first gig in January 2008.

As their name implies: Pinatubo Bay's fire-hot style mix including a variety of offbeat-music styles enlights both the stage and the dancefloor..... It is no coincidence that the 10-headed band found the first part of their name in the volcanoe "Mt. Pinatubo" that has caused the most powerful erruption of the 20th century, and, by the way, erased the biggest US Army Camp out of the States at the same time! .. Nevertheless the group is fond of the roots of Ska and Reggae music, which are to be found on the island of Jamaica only, and "stole" the second part of their name from famous "Montego Bay", still one of Jamaica's most important gates to the rest of the world, and one of the spots, where the hottest Jamaican grooves - via vinyl - left the island first.

In December 2008 Pinatubo Bay released their 1st full-length album containing 13 unique tracks - the album is called TIME HAS COME and can be ordered via MySpace or e-mail only! In 2009 the online community ska-talk.com celebrated the 50th birthday of Ska music with a sampler called 50 YEARS OF SKA. Pinatubo Bay had the honour to participate with their song Time has come, next to great bands such as Intensified, The Moon Invaders, Kingston Kitchen, The Dualers, The Kinky Coo Coos and many more. The sampler can be ordered via MySpace or e-mail, e.g. together with TIME HAS COME in a package for € 10!

The 2nd release, the 6-track EP KEEP THE RHYTHM was released in February 2010 and contains some heavy heavy Reggae and Ska tunes! The special edition is already SOLD OUT, but it is possible to download the EP for free - check out the following links! (Maybe you will have to copy and paste them)
