An independently owned and operated bluegrass record label, Pinecastle Records was founded by Tom Riggs. A former Pizza Hut franchiser, Riggs initially started a bluegrass radio show called America’s Acoustic Country, which quickly went into syndication and was heard in nearly 200 markets. His love of bluegrass music led him to start the label in Orlando, FL in 1990. In it’s 16 years of operation, Pinecastle has released nearly 200 releases from such acts as The Osborne Brothers, Jim & Jesse, Chubby Wise, Larry Stephenson, John Cowan, and numerous others. In April of 2005, Pinecastle relocated to the town of Columbus, NC. Nestled in the Blue Ridge mountains equidistant between Asheville and Spartanburg, SC, Pinecastle is now in prime bluegrass country. Our staff consists of Tom Riggs-President, Ethan Burkhardt-Marketing Director, Matt Hood-Director of Radio Promotions, and Sara Bailey-Director of Publicity and Tour Support.
