Multi-award winning band, Pine Cone Wars is a Seattle born rock n' roll trio now living in Los Angeles.
Named by Teen People Magazine as "The best unsigned band in America" Pine Cone Wars competed against 700 bands in the country and placed first in the Battle of the Bands final competition held in New York City where they shared the stage with performers such as Justin Timberlake and Avril Lavigne. Other awards include: 1st place at "World Folk Battle of the Bands" in San Fransisco, and the International Film & Music Festival's 10th anniversary CD features Pine Cone Wars as top artist of 2004!
With melody at the forefront of their strongest attribute, songwriting remains the focus. "We're just pining for a change and in pursuit of a good tune" - Aaron Graham. Thanks to a loyal fan base in Seattle and a growing one in southern California, Pine Cone Wars has independently accomplished a lot at a young age from awards and live shows to full length albums and music videos.
From Seattle to Hollywood, pine to palm, movement, change, all in motion as three cars, three music makers and the sound they create travel down I-5.
Consisting of three childhood friends, Pine Cone Wars formed as the 1990s were coming to a close. Even at elementary ages they were creating music but the formation of the band formed as rock n' roll was evolving into the familiar pop rock category we know today.
Oasis, Third Eye Blind, Goo Goo Dolls, and other inspirations of modern sounds were at the helm of PCW's creative engine at the time of the band's conception but the times changed. As eye culture succeeded ear culture in the new millenium marketplace, those three cars traveling down I-5 had something else on board at 80mph, classic rock n' roll screaming out of their small car speakers and the mantra was heard by the ears of the three who were at this point consumed by the revolutionary recordings of early rock n' roll.
The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Queen, U2, account for the heavy british influence within PCW’s music but the foundation of this group was set in their impressionable, juvenile days which was pop sensible rock of the 90's era giving them a songwriting edge of relevance.
