We are not beasts of the field, yet we kill,
We are not Creators of this Earth, yet we destroy,
We cannot carry Peace in our Hearts, if we have harmed others,
We cannot live our dreams, knowing others have been destroyed,
Forgive, when Forgiveness is needed,

This will be a spotty work in progress of a Disc Pipe, no power tools all files and sandpaper, and a little time. The disc pipe in progress now,15 hours to this point.
7 hours filing,,
Top View, nearly ready to bore holes...
6 more hour filing, sanding now started and Holes drilled, the stem will be of Sumac that has been curing or drying for 4 months..
Stem is now cut to length, and the bark removed, as in all my pipes the length of the stem is 4 times the length of the Bowl. One section of stem for the Spirit of each of the directions, and to the 4 stages of life as a human being. I have been told that it is wrong to show what is done to make the Pipe, That one will be called to do so without needing any instructions. I do not believe this to be true.
If you are given a gift, from Creator why should it be hidden, so no eyes see...???? Gifts given are meant to be shared, knowledge ....Shared ..... All things in life through the Creators name, are intended to be shared. The air, water, cultures, brotherhood, lives, every essence of this world every animal, shared in Brotherhood.....We cannot become the society we Dream of, observe the Peace in this world that ALL seek...... Without Sharing... PW....
Stem completed, adornment added, a coat of Bees Wax is all that remains for the bowl, then it will be packed and loaded with sage to keep it clean and safe from bad thoughts.

What ever I have time to read. Favorite book, Frank Fools Crow by Norman Mailes .
A Story of The Mother,
Once when the Mother was new her skin was green, and her arms, the trees as old as time reached high enough into the sky to actually touch The Father.
She willingly offered us an abundance of food, fresh air and her water was pure enough you could drink it right from her veins. She offered her life to us in a way that we shall never see again.
Now man has cut her trees so they no longer connect with the Father, he has turned her golden fields of grasses into hard blackened surfaces, where nothing shall ever grow again. Her breath now filled with the stench of man, once fresh, now poisons us and our children as we fill our lungs with it.
We have cut into her skin, ripping at her very Heart, we have taken pipes of steel and driven them deep into her to pump out her very blood.
We have taken more than she will ever be able to replenish and she is dying.
The Mother cries now, tears that burn as they touch all she holds so dear, and to few hear her cries, and to few care.
We continue to litter her with discarded pieces of our everyday lives. She shakes and moans to silent ears.
I fear for us all and for our children and our childrens children, for I see a broken Mother soon to be unfit for any one to live on.
It is this sad thought that comes to my mind as I write these words, that the Mothers only saving grace be this, "That man destroys himself completely, before he completely destroys The Mother."

Each of us has a hidden place Somewhere deep within ourselves; A place where we go to get away, To think things through, To be alone, to be ourselves . This unique place, where we confront our deepest feelings, Becomes a storehouse of all our hopes, All our needs, all our dreams, And even our unspoken fears. It encompasses the essence of who we are and what we want to be. But now and then, whether by chance or design, Someone discovers a way into that place we thought was ours alone. And we allow that person to see, to feel and to share All the reason, all the uncertainty And all the emotion we've stored up there. That person adds new perspective to our hidden realm, Then quietly settles down in her own corner of our special place, Where a bit of herself will stay forever. And we call that person a friend! thank you..my friend...always ....

Choosing the right path...........
If you talk to the animals
they will talk with you
and you will know each other.
If you do not talk to them
you will not know them,
and what you do not know
you will fear.
What one fears
one destroys.

,
The Buffalo (ya'-n'-s-si' or yansi) Tatanka
The buffalo or bison is considered by many tribes to
be a symbol of adundance for it was the meat of the
buffalo that fed the people, the hides that provided
clothing and shelter, the bones and sinew provided
tools of survival.
In the Legend of the Sacred Pipe, the White Buffalo
Calf Woman gave the Sacred Pipe to the Sioux as a
caretaker for the Red Nation. This pipe held the power
of the Great Spirit. She brought the people a message
of peace and said that they would have good hunting
and turn into a great nation. The appearance of a white
buffalo is a sign that prayers have been heard, and
signals a time of abundance plenty.
"Buffalo Medicine" means to bring a special honor,
or appreciation for all of the things that the Earth
provides for her children. To use buffalo medicine
is to smoke the pipe in a sacred manner, and to give
praise for the richness of life to be shared with all.
If a child's name included the word "buffalo" in it, the
Indians believed that the child would be especially
strong and would mature quickly. If a warrior was
renamed after a vision or great hunting or war
accomplishment, and his new name included the
word "buffalo," it meant that the buffalo was his
supernatural helper, or that he exhibited the strength
of a buffalo, or that he was an extraordinary hunter.
In other words, the name desribed the powers of the man.
Societies named after the buffalo had the animal as
their patron. Holy men who saw buffalo in the vision
during which they were called to the practice of
medicine would seek thereafter to commune with
the Great Spirit through the buffalo. No other animal has come to symbolize the american west like the American Bison. Oftentimes called American Buffalo, this is a misnomer as it is not in the same family of the two "true buffaloes", the water buffalo and the African buffalo. Historically the Bison used to roam much of North America with population estimates of 20 - 30 million. Unregulated hunting brought this majestic to the brink of extinction, with an estimated population of only 600 by 1900, and we percieve ourselves as an advanced civilization, watchers over the Gift of Our Mother, some where we stopped watching.... The species survived thanks to the efforts of a small devoted group of conservationists, and today approximately 500,000 bison live across North America. ...

They said he would not live a month, they said he would not live a year now he is going on 7, maybe "they" don't understand who decides when our time is, and who is Really in Charge...?????
Frank Fools Crow has had many exceptional things written about his profound love and concern for all races. It was his fervent wish to share his profound gifts with as many as he could reach. "Survival of the world depends on our sharing what we have, and working together. If we don't the whole world will die. First the planet, and next the people." Then he continues, "The ones who complain and talk the most about giving away Medicine Secrets, are always those who know the least." He had little time for anyone who attempted to keep blessings for themselves.
Native American Indian Traditional Code of Ethics
1. Each morning upon rising, and each evening before sleeping, give thanks for the life within you and for all life, for the good things the Creator has given you and for the opportunity to grow a little more each day. Consider your thoughts and actions of the past day and seek for the courage and strengthto be a better person. Seek for the things that will benefit others (everyone).
2. Respect. Respect means "To feel or show honor or esteem for someone or something; to consider the well being of, or to treat someone or somethin with deference or courtesy". Showing respect is a basic law of life.
a. Treat every person from the tiniest child to the oldest elder with respect at all times.
b. Special respect should be given to Elders, Parents, Teachers, and Community Leaders.
c. No person should be made to feel "put down" by you; avoid hurting other hearts as you would avoid a deadly poison.
d. Touch nothing that belongs to someone else (especially Sacred Objects) without permission, or an understanding between you.
e. Respect the privacy of every person, never intrude on a person's quiet moment or personal space.
f. Never walk between people that are conversing.
g. Never interrupt people who are conversing.
h. Speak in a soft voice, especially when you are in the presence of Elders, strangers or others to whom special respect is due.
i. Do not speak unless invited to do so at gatherings where Elders are present (except to ask what is expected of you, should you be in doubt).
j. Never speak about others in a negative way, whether they are present or not.
k. Treat the earth and all of her aspects as your mother. Show deep respect for the mineral world, the plant world, and the animal world. Do nothing to pollute our Mother, rise up with wisdom to defend her.
l. Show deep respect for the beliefs and religion of others.
m. Listen with courtesy to what others say, even if you feel that what they are saying is worthless. Listen with your heart.
n. Respect the wisdom of the people in council. Once you give an idea to a council meeting it no longer belongs to you. It belongs to the people. Respect demands that you listen intently to the ideas of others in council and that you do not insist that your idea prevail. Indeed you should freely support the ideas of others if they are true and good, even if those ideas ideas are quite different from the ones you have contributed. The clash of ideas brings forth the Spark of Truth.
3. Once a council has decided something in unity, respect demands that no one speak secretly against what has been decided. If the council has made an error, that error will become apparent to everyone in its own time.
4. Be truthful at all times, and under all conditions.
5. Always treat your guests with honor and consideration. Give of your best food, your best blankets, the best part of your house, and your best service to your guests.
6. The hurt of one is the hurt of all, the honor of one is the honor of all.
7. Receive strangers and outsiders with a loving heart and as members of the human family.
8. All the races and tribes in the world are like the different colored flowers of one meadow. All are beautiful. As children of the Creator they must all be respected.
9. To serve others, to be of some use to family, community, nation, and the world is one of the main purposes for which human beings have been created. Do not fill yourself with your own affairs and forget your most important talks. True happiness comes only to those who dedicate their lives to the service of others.
10. Observe moderation and balance in all things.
11. Know those things that lead to your well-being, and those things that lead to your destruction.
12. Listen to and follow the guidance given to your heart. Expect guidance to come in many forms; in prayer, in dreams, in times of quiet solitude, and in the words and deeds of wise Elders and friends.
One Effects The Other,
Words on living, passed down from White Buffalo Calf Woman.........
Friend, do it this way:
that is, whatever you do in life,
do the very best you can
with both your heart and mind.
And if you do it that way,
the Power of the Universe
will come to your assistance,
if your heart and mind are in Unity.
When one sits in the Hoop of the People,
one must be responsible,
because all of Creation is related,
and the hurt of one is the hurt of all,
and the honor of one is the honor of all,
and whatever we do
affects everything in the Universe.
If you do it that way,
that is, if you truly join
your heart and mind as One,
whatever you ask for,
that's the Way It's Going to Be
From Wakan-Tanka, the Great Mystery, comes all power. It is from Wakan-Tanka that the holy man has wisdom and the power to heal and make holy charms. Man knows that all healing plants are given by Wakan-Tanka, therefore they are holy. So too is the buffalo holy, because it is the gift of Wakan-Tanka.
