The Pink Lizards are a fresh new band on the rock circuit. They have been together for around 18 months now and in this time have recorded two demo's and their first album titled 'Massive Small' (released to public 14th October 06) which basically means a Massive album for a Small band.
They are all college students of 18 years of age and have been friends throughout school.
The original line up of the band had Sam as the guitarist. The singer at that time left the band just before an important gig in front of 1500 people at 'Party in the Park' in Finedon, Northants. The lads had to quickly find a replacement to cover the gig. That's when they recruited Dave as guitarist and Sam took over the mantle of lead man. This left them 2 weeks to learn 24 songs before the gig. They easily did this with 2 extra songs to spare. Since then they have been going from strength to strength performing at pubs and clubs over Northamptonshire and Bedfordshire and recruiting quite a large fan base,

They recently came 5th in the rock section of the Channel4 - My Music competition, for 3 tracks of original songs from their album, with over 40,000 votes from listeners,Click here for Channel4 profile. The prize was to win a recording deal and TV coverage. The lads were extremely pleased to come 5th out of 1000's of bands, although it would have been a dream come true to win the prize.
The band is currently working on more of their own material in an effort to be noticed by a record label and then hopefully living 'the dream'.

MASSIVE SMALL ALBUM REVIEW by Overplay.com
Standing at the helm of a speedboat surging between the islands of the rock archipelago, Pink Lizards are on a reckless mission to entertain. Veering wildly from the funk stomps of the Chili Peppers to the up-to-eleven rawk! of Wolfmother via some very seedy places, the Northamptonshire quartet don’t give an inch to sentimentality on their nine-track debut lp.
“One Night Only” – about finding the kind of true love that only ever lasts for, you guessed it, one night only – is a suitably snake-hipped initiation. A libidinous vocal from frontman Sam Desborough wraps thighs with throaty howls of White Stripes/D4 guitar to give your ears carpet burns. “Lonely Love”, “Fuzzy Rush” and “Crazy Monitor” are similarly barmy blasts of Jet, Datsuns and AC/DC retro adrenaline, and all done with considerable flair.
There’s far more to interest here than leather trousers and greasy fringes, however. ”Something Special” is a soaring punk anthem in the style of The Skids, “Block The Waves” is a thumping ramshackle Chili Peppers funkfest and “Beautiful Eyes” is more about coy looks than thrusting crotches with its Cure-like indie fragility. The closing “Get Over” even finds time for a bit of laid-back slow-jam introspection. With influences aplenty and some killer hooks to match, the future’s bright, the future’s pink.

The following videos are from the gig we had to celebrate the release of our album- Massive Small. The event brought together over 400 of our Lizardettes and the videos will be shown on the Channel 4 website.
We are the Skabilly Rebels from Coventry, England - Home of 2Tone (so they say) and the Parsons nose. Since 2003 we've toured Ireland twice and extensively through Europe, taking in the Kato Club, Berlin, where the Live Lily Marlene Tour CD was recorded and the infamous Indra Club, Hamburg, where some other little known English band, The Beatles, held residency. Currently we're recording a new album, which seems to be taking a lifetime but is gonna be the one you can die happy in the knowledge of the piece of history you left behind. Watch out for 'Blues Attack' !!! Cheers from the Concrete Jungle The Skabilly Rebels
PRESSURE TONES
After many years supporting the Uk Ska and Scooter Scene, enjoying music from original Jamaican Reggae to Two Tone, Mod, Northern Soul and Punk, the 5 Northants members decided back in 2003, to combine all these musical influences into their very own sound and formed The Pressure Tones. The Pressure Tones have successfully produced their debut album entitled "Pressurized" which has been sold at gigs and their website, throughout europe and the United Kingdom. After successfully supporting bands such as Bad Manners, The Selecter, The Meteors, Skaville UK, The Toasters, Uk Subs, the band are looking forward to spreading the sound of The Pressure Tones to all parts of the country.
With the addition of a trumpet player in 2006, The Pressure Tones sound has become even tighter, and are set to take the live scene by storm. The band have also been getting regular airplay on BBC Radio Northampton's Weekender show, including being at number one for four weeks with their track "Strange Girl". 2007 saw a change of personnel on vocals, and the band secured more supports with top ska acts.
