My Poetry...
Chemicalculity
We are but chemicals
you and me
You see
Where space and time flow free
Where morals are subjective
God and all; just perceptive
We are reliant upon reaction
so to see this world in action
So reality only takes place
because reactions beneath our face
What is this world then but a dream
where our mind has made it what it seems?
Atomic Dance
Oh lonely chemical,
pushed around whichever way the forces may take you.
Oh lonely chemical,
when might you find your match; your complement?
When will the world hand over itself to you,
allowing that your desires shall be fulfilled?
Oh lonely chemical,
hold in there until your day of lonliness fades away.
When the season is right for you
that you may withold that which you long for.
Do not stop your tireless search
for the one which fits you best.
For now you are not stable
but soon you shall be.
This when you find your opposite
the one that will balance you out.
And at this time shall you dance together
the rythm of the world in joy.
Your attraction to the other will be strong
that not even the sun can pull apart.
You will dance forever in love and passion
until the time of the end.
Oh lonely chemical,
do not give up; do not give in.
You are an attraction waiting for the moment
when the variables are just right.
Oh lonely chemical,
you will dance with her tonight.
My Thoughts...
...on your offence to my thoughts
Get over it! Life is subjective and opinions are ramped and meant to be voiced.
...on religion
The similarity between a religion's bible and a science book is that they each give you a view of the world. The difference is that the bibles don't give a logical reason of why or how they came to their conclusions.
What is the difference between a fairy tale by an unknown author and a bible? Nothing. For some reason or the other some choose to believe the latter. I don't get it.
Lastly, while I'm on this very simply stated rant (it's pointless to expend any more energy on such a ridiculous topic), why would someone choose one religion's bible over the other? It's not that one or the other has more evidence or logic.
(To be revised and completed soon)
...on subjectivity
Is there any absolute in this world that we can absolutely place our finger on? Some say yes and then they proceed to give examples. This is all fair and well, except that they never quite reach the mark with their examples.
A seemingly true example is that numbers are absolute. But whomever believes this is only fooled by numbers' overwhelming preciseness and usefulness. Is the thought of the number 2 the same as another's thought of the same number? No. For each person clearly has their own subjective image that stands for the number. Thus making each person's idea of the number at least slightly different.
What is included in a number? What is included when one states that there is one of something? What if that object looses an atom? Is it still one, or has it now become part of one? Each one's mind creates it's own abstract image of a number, in accordance to what that person is trying to numerize. The key word here is 'abstract'.
Now, you can say that you absolutely are in the midst of some kind of conscious experience. That you experience life. But everything else is completely subjective, and up to the individual's perception of the world around him. (This is a rough draft...to be revised)
...on consciousness
Unfortunately no one yet knows fully, if they know anything at all, of what the fundamental underlying property of consciousness is. Because of this we cannot confirm for ourselves if any other creature is conscious besides us. We only know to think that something is conscious if it acts to be so. Of course, some think that only humans are truly conscious. More on this in a moment.
I consider consciousness to be an underlying aspect of all matter. That each particle within the universe carries 'a piece of a conscious whole'. I like to think of a conscious and understanding creature to be the universe looking out at itself; the universe understanding itself.
I do not think consciousness to be a 'spritual' thing, in this sense that some God-believing person would think it as. They think it as some seperate entity. A spirit, something apart from the physical world, something unreachable, unknowable, and yet able to interact with the physical world.
Instead of this, what causes levels of experiential consciousness is streams of complex information trasfer. For example, the brain, which is a complex web of matter interacting with matter, in which information about the world is stored and retrieved. In this stead everything is technically conscious, even that wall that is next to you. But what seperates us from that wall is our brain. The complexity of the information stored in that wall is no where near the complexity of the information stored and being retrieved in the brain. I must say then that I believe robots can become self-aware, but all creatures, robot or not, are limited to the abilities and understanding of their hardware. (This will be a subject I will touch on later).
But to this day many believe that we are the only conscious creatures, and that all others are simply mechanical processes without true self-awareness. If you can't believe that the cow on the other side of the fence is conscious, or self-aware, what causes you to come to the conclusion that the human next to you is conscious? Is it just because you both have the means to communicate with one another?
