Pirahna makes music that is about you as much as it is about themselves. You won't find any fluff in their artistic and inspirational style of modern rock, but instead you may be reminded of some of the great rock movements of our time. Pirahna's sound skirts the fine line between radio friendly arena rock and soulful alternative rock oozing with message. Their set is truly dynamic with equal part highs and lows, quiet and raucous.
Pirahna (expanded from the word "Prana") is fronted by San Antonio native Nathan Alvarado who honed his vocal and performance chops on the local cover band scene. Like most lyricists, Alvarado draws from his personal experiences to craft his part of a song. However, he is mindful to include the unifying spiritual themes of love, eternal truth, and awakening. Alvarado's melodies are revealed atop the exceptional musical foundation of guitarist Randy Toman, bassist Steve Coronado (Spade), and drummer Roy Buquor Hernandez. Pirahna isn't afraid to allow the creative and skillful instrumentation of its players to develop and even dominate a track. This all indeed makes Pirahna's music for the masses.
Currently, Pirahna is focusing on recording demo tracks while continuing to play worthwhile shows and write new material. Their explosion out of the gate has been a successful one. This momentum will build and carry Pirahna to an eventual album, touring, radio play, and most importantly an expanded rock audience seeking inspiration, hope, and freedom through music.

Thanks Bro. They have been one of my faves since I lived in Cleveland, OH back in 1982! I have their first 5 LPs on VINYL and met Biff when they got out of their tour bus on their way into the venue. I was waiting outside in the FRIGID CLEVELAND WINTER! Well worth it though. We need to get on the same bill somewhere. Sin
