The band Pirates Of Acheron was founded in Dessau, in October 2004 as a punk rock band under the name Kleinstadtpiraten by Dr. Holocaust (git), Pirat666 (git) and Pulverizator (dr/voc). The first gig on January 15 at Pirat666's backyard was also played with this line-up, without a bassman. But a short time after that Otto, the dirty Rectum Rummager joined the band as bass player. In this line-up they also recorded the first demo and the video to "Heaven & Hell" but both got never to the public because of the bad quality.
After some shows in their hometown Slick joined the band as a new singer and Pulverizator confined hisself to the drums. After the only gig in this formation Slick left the band after a few weeks because of personal reasons. In the beginning of 2006 the quite long search for a new singer ended up with Big A and in the following months the style of the Pirates changed - also because of Big A's kind of singing - still farer away from punk rock to metal and hardcore. In October that year the Kleinstadtpiraten changed into Pirates Of Acheron and short after this the first demo under the new name was recorded. Because of the very negative musical developpement of metalcore and similar music genres the Pirates went into harder and more raw fields and when it was clear that the band sold their soul to oldschool thrash metal a new vocalist change was on time.
This change brought Alastor and at the beginning of 2007 the Chaos Flood demo EP came out with him, which all in all convinced in spite of the bad quality. This demo also showed the musical way of the Pirates to the Soul Stealer LP where one can find all tracks from Chaos Flood, too. While recording the debut album the band decided to go on without Dr. Holocaust and Alastor played the second guitar beside the vocals.
