Piritta was born in October 11 th in Tampere Finland. She..s spent long times in Usa, Spain, Uk, Turku and Lahti, but always gotten back to Tampere. She..s been making music and touring with her own bands for about ten years, and written lyrics and done some background singing for other artists as well ( Diablo, Uniklubi,Villieläin, Paleface, Ezkimo, Lord Est ect. ).She..s also sung in some cover projects. Piritta has graduated from the Arts Academy of Turku on 2004 from Theatre Directing, but there she mostly found herself at the theatres studio writing songs and making sounds for others, so she realized that music had already chosen her, and got back in the bus.
Piritta is a bit of a Strangebird, and known for her unique, intensive performing on stage. She has an unlikely combination on being soft and emotional, and yet full of rage at the same time. You either hate her, or love her.
Her biggest influences in singing are Janis Joplin, Skin of the Skunk Anansie, Courtney Love, Billie Holiday and Sandra of the Guano Apes. Musically meaningful bands have been Depeche Mode, The Doors, Faith No More and Red Hot Chili Peppers.
Her current band Manzana released album NOTHING AS WHOLE AS A BROKEN HEART on Jan. 2007. The single FALLING TO PIECES and the album went on charts, single number 3. and album 24. "Falling To Pieces" has got airplay on Finnish Radios & Tv. Manzana got a good media cover on Finnish press after the album, and the band visited several Tv Shows, including MTV..s HEADBANGERS BALL. Manzanas new album BABIES OF REVOLUTION, was released on September 2008, and it went on Finnish chart number 28. The first video & single from Babies Of Revolution END OF THE WORLD was released April 2008. Manzanas debut album was released 24 countries. Manzana was touring then Germany & Switzerland with Lovex on 2007, and all Finland with bands like Entwine , Apulanta, Teräsbetoni and Sara. November 08/ April / May 2009 Manzana toured Tha Baltics and Europe again on Finnish Female Fronted Rock/Metal Tour 2009, and the tour visited 7 countries.
Manzana is working on their 3rd album now, and it will be out in the beginning of 2010. Manzana will tour some Finland and the Baltics in October 09 again, and other Europe in Jan.
Piritta is also working with another female fronted Finnish metal band VILLIELÄIN, as a lyricist. Villieläin is signed to Universal Music, and the first single " KAIVERRETTU HIEKKAAN " came out out March 09. Villieläin..s debut album JULMA SATU ( Cruel Fairytale ) was released in August 2009 and it went on Finnish album chart number 27. Pirittas lyrics will also appear on Agnes Pihlavas new album, due to be released October 09.
