It can be so tempting to just go through the motions sometimes... especially when you're living a dream... or (in the oh too common scenario) dreaming about chasing your dreams while chasing the means to acquire them... or the next best thing... or maybe just anything…
Yes, I know that we are tried and tired, notwithstanding all the hope that's been goin' around. Yes, I know that we are searching for an intangible something meaningful to do... the next stage in human evolution maybe… revolution... but without the circles.... hoping to enjoy that sacred cycle in the pursuit of happiness.
...how about finishing what we've started?
Each one: get up, and make it happen; be your own Obama.

“Reading this book has been a wonderful, thought provoking experience; studded with nuggets of inspiration and wisdom, it offers an explanatory journey into the five magical steps - essential for positively turning your life around. John A. Andrews has delivered…This pocket sized guide belongs on every nightstand; as a reminder of the simple truths in life and can make all the difference in yours.” - Mark Burg, Producer - of the “SAW” motion picture franchise.
Some of you know me personally; most of you don’t. Either way, all of you are prepared to hear what I will say about our connection here. MySpace is a phenomenal place: a microcosm of the world composed of text messages, pictures, and sounds, presented by the generation that will change the world forever.
If I’ve posted this to your page, you’re in my friends network on MySpace. You are many faces, many walks of life, many obstacles, and pending victories.
Can you see?
Some say that looks are deceiving. I say that to the discerning eye, looks are the ultimate truth. And I will tell you what I see.
One observation is sure: many of you are hurting and healing from hurt, notwithstanding moments of joy in sadness. Many of you desire change in a world that resists change, in a life not tailored for the progress you’re making. Your eyes are open, but you find it difficult to see beyond tears that no longer mean what they use to.
Fortunately, there is an answer.
It is found somewhere in the songs posted to your pages, and between every other line of venting in your blogs, and pictures you have taken. But these alone are not enough. And concerning this, I say stay a while. And the answer will come.
So great are you little gods, as great as the irony we have found and now experience. It is the human condition, though not merely so. There is a divinity in us all: a power realized only by the journey and fully understood only by the destination…
Therefore, continue to search just as you have: living often times aimlessly, though purposed to discover the target; believing that there is a target; believing in spite of immeasurable weakness and ever-present discouragements; believing in the light of many astonishing talents and conquered feats.
Borrow a dream if you must; they are very important. Steal a laugh if you must; do not cry for long. And remember that I am here…
Legend. A new sound for a new generation: Urban melodies meet classical forms for a perfect combination of piano and strings at its finest. Excellent! Add this soothing music masterpiece to your mp3 collection. Then sit back, relax and enjoy...
'City Smells' is a new literary project set up by the Edit Red Writing Community.
We are running three writing competitions, Flash Fiction, Creative Non-Fiction and Poetry, all with the theme 'City Smells. The winners of each of these competitions will win $100. But more than this, we will take the best work from each competition and compile a paperback 'City Smells' anthology. The writers who make it into the 'City Smells' anthology will each receive free copies of the book and be paid a royalty in book sales.
To submit to these competition and stand a chance of being published in the 'City Smells' book you must be a member of Edit Red, as the submission process is automated. Joining Edit Red and entering these competitions is 100% free. If you make it into the book, we will pay royalties based on book sales.
Edit Red has existed for many years and was created and is still managed today by non-fiction author Alan Emmins, creative writing teacher Chris Lee Ramsden and literary reviewer Sean Merrigan.
If you are not already a member, we hope you will join and take part in this great literary event. Sign up here for free!
