JEROEN PEK (flutes, composition, conception & direction) is international renowned as one of the players who contributes to the development of the flute as a full fledged jazz instrument. He has an incomparable sound with a range of colours and is recognized as the player who combines virtuosity and power-play with emotion and intimacy. As a composer he won several honourable mentions during the contest of Jazz Composers Alliance (Boston/USA), was finalist at the contest of the Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz (Washington/USA) and recently made it to the last rounds of the International Song writing Contest (Nashville/USA).

Musical omnivore ONNO WITTE (drums, percussion, voice & engineering) is well-known for his energetic, joyfull and creative playing. He toured in Europe, USA, the Caribbean and Africa with several artists from the Dutch jazzscene like Randal Corsen, Jan Reinen, Paul van Kemenade, Ferhan Ottay, Jeroen Pek, Stormvogel and his Brazilian Batucade band Medicamento. He received many prizes and was selected in the top ten of best Dutch jazz drummers (Slagwerkkrant). As a bandleader and producer he runs his quartet WO 4 (1 cd) and Onno Witte’s Wildcard (1 cd), recording in his studio White Noise (Riel, Netherlands).

STORMVOGEL (rhodes piano, synthesizers, voice & design) is a “homo universalis”. Besides musician and composer, touring as a jazzpianist and bandleader of Stormvogels Alter Ego, he is a writer, historian, journalist and projectmanager as well, performing on stage as a poet and sworddancer. Stormvogel is known for crossover theatreprojects like in wich he combines several artforms with history and middle-evil legends. In 2005 he received the first Amer Award for his contribution to the arts in The Netherlands. One of his fortes is the use of analoge synthesizers (Moog, Korg, Oberheimer) in jazz oriented music.

The gifted bassplayer DAVID DE MAREZ OYENS (e-bass, e-double bass) became a teacher at the Conservatory of Hilversum (Amsterdam), already during his study. Later he took the course Contemporary Improvisation through Non-Western Techniques. Through his career De Marez Oyens played with several great artists, such as Rob Madna, Nueva Manteca, Leonardo Amuedo, Randal Corsen, Eef Albers, Wim Overgaauw, Michel Petrucciani, Thijs van Leer, Friedrich Gulda, Didier Lockwood, Randy Crawford, Three Degrees, Mike Mainieri, Edo Righini, Tineke Postma. Currently he is working with Margriet Eshuijs, Jan Akkerman, Denise Jannah, Pitch White Storm and René Engel.

Apart from jazz, classical and worldmusic and 70's Jazzrock & Progressive, Pitch White Storm pays tribute to the following sources of inspiration: miracolous tales & legends of all kind, strange fruit and history, adventures & experiences within Pitch White Storm.
PITCH WHITE STORM is a jazzrock project initiated by one of the leading jazzflute players from Europe, Jeroen Pek, with collaboration of drummer Onno Witte and synthesizerist Stormvogel, three progressive jazzmusicians in the Netherlands, taking the logic next step to explore the depth and boundaries in the field of Jazz(-Rock). The music is composed by Jeroen Pek, but is enriched during the process with ideas by the other members. The repertoire stands on the crossing of improvisation and arrangement and the combination of acoustic elements with electronic means. Strong melodic themes are alternated with pithy dynamic improvisations that often refer to the written material. By releasing traditional style figures from their natural context and bringing them together into a new unity, Pitch White Storm looks for an experimental ‘electicism’.
UPcycle is a brand new agency that mediates for jazz musicians with an extra in ‘electicism in jazz and beyond’. With in mind the philosophy that jazz musicians are as well as performers, composers and educators, UPcycle has developed a specialization in the so called UPcycle Packages. In order to accomplish our goal we have selected an exclusive but excellent group musicians, Jeroen Pek, Onno Witte and Stormvogel.
