Pixel is the brainchild of multi-dimensional Producer/
Engineer and Visual Artist Kwesi Kobie Dawes. He
was born in Baltimore Maryland in the mid seventies,
and grew up in a culturally diverse suburb between
Washington D.C. and his hometown. He was exposed
to many different types of music and cultural
perspectives during his youth. These sounds had an
impressionable effect on his musical and creative
Outlook. He remembers the excitement associated
with the newness of Hip Hop culture in its early days
(1980-1985) and glory days (1988-1995).
His influences range from Soul, Reggae, Fusion Jazz,
Funk, Disco, 80s New Wave, R&B, Speed Metal, Punk,
and World music. Many of these components fall
effortlessly into his compositions.
XLR8 magazine (USA): Pixel is destined to be far more than just a blip on the screen.
IDJ (UK): review by Peter McIntyre: An album that heralds the arrival of a major new talent.
Dusty Groove (USA): One of the freshest American underground records we've heard in a longtime?
Gilles Peterson (Worldwide): Do You Miss Me. That's a bad tune!
Ashley Beedle (UK): An amazing record and production. More records like this please.
Rainer Truby (Germany) : Such a good album, difficult to pick any particular tracks.
Paul Gamblin (RTR FM, Australia): Soothes the soul- wicked!
Plastiks (Belguim): review by Matthew K: "Great album covering loads of genres with a big Philly influence. The deep house tracks are amazing"
De-Bug (Germany): review by Rene Josquin. "Extremely versatile, but with a deep trademark. Like Pepe Braddock or Henrik Schwartz have.
Stewart Velanche (Urban Landscapes/USA): "This is the kind of album that makes what I do worthwhile. What a stunning effort of beauty, depth, and spiritual energy...like magic."

"Bloody Sunday" a song about what is occurring to us as a generation. About all the unrest that exists today and how we can't be afraid to empower ourselves to believe we can cause a change. The song is free, no catches. Politics, war, money, all equal another Bloody Sunday.
