I am a very simple person, with very simple tastes. I can get a bit wacky with the right motivation. I love to laugh, a LOT. I start my day out listening to Bob and Tom, laughter is a great way to start the day. I love my cat Mollie, yeah, she's my baby girl. I love to do art and photography. I also love to sing, and do karaoke, my mother was an opera singer, and thankfully I inherited her pipes and not my fathers. Can anyone say, sounds like someone strangling a cat? I also like to commune with nature, and living so close to the mountains, I get plenty of opportunities to do so. I have a favorite place I go to, where it is so quiet, that all you can hear is nature, I go there when I need to be re-energized. Listening to the sounds of nature, and not traffic noise is very soothing. Sometimes I wish I could live there.
Music
I love most kinds of music, metal, hard rock, jazz, blues, reggae, pop, classical, celtic, r & b, not much into rap or hip hop, absolutely hate dance and techno (it's so annoying), I can tolerate some country, but only in small doses. I am a big supporter of our local music scene, and believe that a lot of them are better than some of the national acts. Except Tool. Tool is my favorite band.
Movies
I love to laugh, so give me a good comedy over any kind of movie. But I also love dramas, action, adventure, and horror. I'm a bit of a movie buff, and have what some might call an obsessional love for old movies. Alfred Hitchcock, Frank Capra, Howard Hawks, Elia Kazan, Stanley Kramer, David Lean, Sydney Lumet, Billy Wilder, are just a few of my favorite directors. And shhh, don't tell anyone, but I love, love, love musicals. My dream is to one day play Adelaide from Guys and Dolls.
Television
Like I said, I love to laugh, and will watch a sitcom over a drama show any day . Unfortunately there aren't a lot of great sitcoms anymore. I like watching reruns of the older sitcoms, News Radio, Just Shoot Me, WKRP, and Yes Dear are among some of my favorites. I also watch a lot of PBS, I like broadening my mind, and they have a lot of very educational and fascinating programming. Plus it's where I can watch my favorite British comedies. Monty Python, Fawlty Towers, Father Ted, Keeping Up Appearances, and My Hero are just a few of the plethora that I love.
Books
I like to read mysterys, horror and crime novels. I also love books about art and photography.
Heroes
Julie March 12, 1936 - July 16, 1993. My mother was and will always be my biggest hero. She was severely disabled by arthritis, became a double amputee in her later years, and NEVER let anything bring her down. Her positive outlook on life was an inspiration to everyone around her. Despite the daily pain she was in, she went through life with a smile on her face, and thumbed her nose at those people who thought she couldn't do things just because she was handicapped. When people would stare, she'd look em straight in the eye, and say, "Would you like a picture?" A saying I adopted when people stare at me, I'm kind of a big girl you see, and people love to stare at me like I'm some sort of circus freak, so I like embarrassing them just like my mom used to do. You were and are my biggest inspiration. I love you mom! RIP
Every part of your life has a beat, and you're often tapping your fingers or toes. You enjoy sounds of all types, but you also find sound can distract you at the wrong time. You are probably a gifted musician of some sort - even if you haven't realized it. Also a music lover, you tend to appreciate artists of all kinds.
You would make a great musician, disc jockey, singer, or composer.
You sarcastic? Never! You're as sweet as a baby bunny. Seriously, though, you have a sharp tongue - and you aren't afraid to use it. And if people are too wimpy to deal with your attitude, then too bad. So sad.
Who I'd like to meet: Why do I want to meet Maynard James Keenan? He and I had very similar upbringings, we were both raised by handicapped mothers who were very religious, I think we would have some interesting stories to tell each other.
Just stopping in to say hi. It has been a while. I hope everything is going good for you. Miss hanging out. Hope to hear from you soon. We are almost finished with the new album and finally got a bass player. Talk to you soon.
