Yes it is, I really enjoyed it. I'm listening on here now, and I enjoy your other works as well. I was really hoping I could be in that All-State band that performed Hometown, but my 2nd round audition went.. very bad to say the least. Had a double buzz (I play trumpet) that I've never had before.

Hey! Sounds like you've been pretty busy. I can't wait to here your new piece. And I DID get the PMEA CD, it's fantastic, I absolutely love it.

I've been pretty good, we just finished up Seussical at school (my last high school show EVER) and it was actually a bigger hit than I thought it would be, so I'm really pleased about that. And I've been on break this past week so I've been able to recover from the show, but I have to go back to school on Tuesday. I'm really ready to be done.

OH have you seen Waitress yet??? I know that was a while ago, but you absolutely have to see it because it is just so...brilliant, haha.

hey mr.burns, great seeing you last night. Soundtrack was amazing. Arielle and I would be interested in your offer from last night about your youth symphony, we just want to get all the information, like does it cost anything, and do we need a try out piece and things like that,so if you could get back to me that would be great. thank you

Hey, I've never played anything of yours but I watched the Georgia All-State band rehearse "Hometown". I'm an aspiring composer, and my band director took a friend and I to have dinner with Sam Hazo and talk about our pieces. I'll be sure to mention you to her.

Haha, Foster Brooks is pretty rockin'. I watched a bunch of clips of him.

So I've got Hell week (a.k.a tech week) at my school, we're doing Suessical and I'm about ready to drop right now haha. Keep your fingers crossed that everyone survives for me? lol

What kind of fun and exciting things have you been doing lately? More festivals? Elementary school teaching?

Yeah, that makes sense. You really do need tough skin to survive in the music business...

I have exciting news! My band conductor is going to let me conduct a piece called Fiera Winds at our spring concert. I think this is the first time he's EVER let a student conduct, at least it is the first time in my 4 years there. I'm so excited!!

Also, if you get the chance you should check out a kid named Bo Burnham on youtube. Crazy talent, highly offensive, ridiculously funny.

Hey, would you say it is harder to make it in the music world as a musician or as a conductor?

Also, have you watched Waitress yet??

Wow, the Overture for Synthesizer and Band is incredible, it's so lovely. I guess I just kind of panicked when the guy said that synthesizers were taking over...

Anyways, I finally decided on where I'm going to college! I know we haven't talked about that, but I just decided today so I'm excited, and feeling relieved. I'll be going to Mercyhurst College, it's in Erie but I'll be living on campus. I was looking at Fredonia but, they put me on their waiting list for their music program. But Mercyhurst, I think, will be better for me, for a number of different reasons. So yay! haha.

Also, you should watch this: http://www. youtube. com/watch?v=1tcR19y7GPM&feature=related There are more videos from that guy if you like it, the whole "family" is super funny.

It's so cool that you two are so close. I love seeing that kind of bonding in the music business.

And I promise to read A Farewell to Arms as soon as I finish Hamlet...And King Lear...And Anna Karenina. I'm really behind on reading...

I definitely miss Regional band. From everyone I've talked to, you seem to be the best conductor in years. I love your analogy, it's so true. I love the fact that I've made new friends and learned so much. I think, looking back on my highschool career (I'm graduating this year) the one thing that I regret the most is not starting PMEA my freshman year. This was my first year doing the festivals and if I feel like I've learned so much from Districts and Regionals, I wish I hadn't been scared about it when I was younger.

Oh, I have a question for you. Today at school we had a presentation by this guy who plays the Ewi, its like...a keyboard, but its a wind instrument. And it's really very cool, but I'm not sure I like it. The guy said that electronic sounds were starting to take over the music business, and on Broadway they've already cut down orchestra's to use computerized music. What do you think about this? As a musician, I'm not pleased because one, it takes jobs away from musicians and two, I just feel like it takes away the soul of the music. I mean, yes it sounds good, its cool, hooray for technology, but I believe an important part of music is what the player puts into it, and I don't feel like you get that with a computer...I don't know, you've played on Broadway, did you notice that? What do you think?

Wow, I just listened to Georgia all-state and they did a great job with your piece!!! I'm so impressed! Was Sam Hazo the conductor? He does awesome work too, we played his piece Exultate at District II. It was amazing.

Why is it disturbing? I mean, the goats lead a pretty regular life, they just fall over for whenever they get excited. And it's funny!!!

You and Jessica should DEFINITELY sit down and watch the whole thing. Waitress is...oh my god. I watched it twice yesterday and once today and I'll probably watch it this weekend too (tomorrow I have rehearsal and a school dance so I probably won't be able to fit it in).

I've listened to all of your pieces on your page, Hometown is incredible. I will definitely check out the performance!

And speaking of performances, what was our grade at our Saturday concert? Did we get an A?
