I grew up in the heyday of acoustic music in the rich cultural heritage of the singer/songwriter. My influences include Jim Croce, Carol King, James Taylor, Dolly Parton, Emmylou Harris, Neil Young, and Simon & Garfunkel. Later musical influences include the Indigo Girls, Mary Chapin Carpenter, and Allison Krauss.
I was classically trained in piano, guitar and voice, beginning my college career as a music major at Limestone College in Gaffney, SC. I changed majors mid-career and wound up with a degree in English and Communications from Winthrop College in Rock Hill, SC. It seems I’ve recently come back home.
Sounds Like
Joan Baez, Ann Murray, Allison Krauss, Mary Chapin Carpenter (so I’ve been told)
I am a singer/songwriter from the Carolinas, currently based in the Charlotte, NC/Rock Hill, SC area. I was born in El Paso, Texas and have been writing songs and performing in public since the age of 16. My songs cross multiple genres, but most fall in the country/folk/pop arenas.
I believe in entertaining my audience, not just playing music, and I enjoy playing to audiences of all ages and backgrounds. I am constantly amazed at the support and devotion of my loyal friends and family, and for that, I am eternally grateful.
Hey, PJ, Thanks for the call last night. Sorry we were out but that's great news about the radio show. Were going to have a swim/BBQ in Aug and would like to have you over. Take care! AB
