| | Music | I'm a Barroom Singer
I'm a Honky Tonk Swinger
Come On In sit down and watch my show.
See this Barroom Singer
And this Honky Tonk Swinger
Do The Only Thing That he really Knows.
Well the neon lights on the marquee
scream out the barromm's name
Well it's a differnt town
but as I look around
The people they look the same.
There's a girl in a low cut dress
with one thing on her mind
Buy me a drink and dance with me
and I'll show you a real good time.
Then there's the cowboy in his boots and hat
A lonely trucker just off the road
With a waitress on his lap.
Then theres the housewife
Her husband who knows where
Sends up note and she smiles and hopes
That I'll go home with her.
As the night wears on I sing my song
I share a little happiness
With the trucker and the housewife
And girl in a low cut dress
I'm a Barroom Singer
I'm a Honky Tonk Swinger
Come on in sit down
And watch my show
And see this Barroom singer
And the Honky Tonk Swinger
Do the only thing that he really knows...

"I Love You Daddy" Luv PJ | | Movies | Where Moonbeams Fall
In the soft muted colors of the night,
The etheral fairy dances among the moonbeams
scattering stardust in her play.
Serenity and inner joy are reflected
in the radiance of her expression
and the lightness of her fairy ballet
as she dances in communion with the universe.
Listen to the whispers of your heart
Cherish your most precious dream
Feel the magic in the air
Dance on a bright moonbeam.....

 | | Heroes | My heroes are my Daddy who lived his life as a "Capitol Recording Artist" an "ACM" and "CMA" nominee and had many a HIT on Billboard throughout his musical career. He also continued to perform in small clubs and bars his whole life thereafter making others smile until he passed away in 1993 poor and broken because of bad promotion and was absolutley ripped off by The National Major Industry. I have dedicated my life to try to change and make a difference for those after him. My "Real" hero is my late son, Christopher who also was an aspiring artist and songriter, who was taken from me by suicide in January 2006. In his 27 years my son taught me more than life ever could. He showed me real love and real pain. He is and always be my inspiration in all I do. My beautiful daughter, Melissa who is a better woman than I was and has learned not to make the same mistakes that I made and can go on to be successful in all she does. She is my main reason for living. My Son, Kenny who God brought to me off the streets as a young boy and made him my child. My main heroes at this time in my life are my grandbabies, Brittanee, Georgianna, Natania and my newest not yet born grandson, Rayden who without them I would have no reason to better myself and make a difference in their world. To them I give God thanks, because I finally know what the meanning of my life is and always will be. No matter what I do in this life, my main goal is to change the course of their future for the better. I hope I can make them proud.. |

Who I'd like to meet:
I come from a long line of Artists such as my Great Grandparents who played the fiddle and lap steel. My Grandmother who wrote music and sang, and then there was my Father, Eddie Joe Downs who from five years old learned to play the guitar and sang. Of course being brought up in my early years in Texas, I remember the whole family would get together with all the distant cousins and friends and have SUPPER and afterwards they would have a Jam Session. God! How I would love those days to be again. They would sing and play songs like "Orange Blossom Special" and The Classic "Louisina Man" by Don Kershaw. What innocent times those were. So I got a first hand look at a musical life and those who loved it and strived to live the Neon Dream. My Father went on to become a Capitol Recording Artist in West Hollywood who in the 70's had many a hit on BillBoard, and was nominated for Male Artist of The Year many times by The AMA and The CMA, but because of bad promotion, pure theft by the music companies, and so on, died a pauper. I lost my son, Chris to suicide January 11, 2006, but he too was a songwriter and bass player. I am also a singer but found my destiny fighting for those like my family who because of the "BUCK" has kept him or her from doing what God put them on this earth for. To this day myself or my family has recieved any royalties from from my father's contribution to the Major Music Industry. I promised my daddy, Eddie Joe Downs before he died that I would continue on in his legacy to fight for "The Little Man". The ones that keep us sane from this world by playing music no matter what genre.
In 1992-1995 I produced Concerts at The Celebrity Theatre. Toolies Country, Yuma Civic Center, etc. I was working with Agencies out of Nashville promoting both National and Independent Artists. By doing this, it gave all of the Artists who were on my roster a chance to build thier bios and give them a professional showcase in order to show thier talents to the public. At that time I had quite a few Bands and Solo Artists on my roster and this helped them immensley. Artists such as Marionette, a Kick Ass Rock band who warmed up for Blackfoot and Iron Butterfly. Adolfo Lee Mayo who warmed up for Gene watson and The Oak Ridge Boys and many more. Alot of these Artists have come and gone but there are many like Adolfo who is doing very well in Nashville. I would call him a Major Indie now. During my adventures in promotion I met a very talented man who I supported during the beginning of his Country Music Career in the early 90s. I knew he was a Major Talent but I did not know his past. Not long after I went to his first CD release party did I realize that this man has a Major Past. I felt so dumb when I was told that his name was Ronnie Lee Keel. Ronnie is now working in Vegas on a permanent basis doing the music he has always loved, Country. I want them and all the other Indie Artists I have had a pleasure to work with to know how much they mean to me and how proud I am of them..God Bless You All.
I also worked for 10 years with The Country Music Association of America. The third largest Organization in The US for The Indie Country Artists. I was Chief Judge, Stage Manager, and Assistant to The Executive Director. I was taught by One of America's # Indie Promoters, Ralph T. Hicks. The Founder of The Country Music Associations Of America. I have alot of experience and the ear. I have alot of knowledge in the industry since I broke my teeth through on ole barstools. I have watched the industry grow to what it is today and saw alot of tears from many a musician because his spirit was hurt by some big cigar smoking jackass who does nothing but sit and put down their self esteem. I am dedicated to The Independents and if we all work together and not against each other we can make a difference. God Bless and never forget what you were put here to do.
Remember we are all wearring "OUR INDIES" underneath, no matter what kind of music you play...I love you all..
The One Man I would like to meet is "The Big Man Upstairs." He has never failed me, nor avoided me and so here I am. I am starting over in life after 23 years of marriage and one child absent. I am going to pursue all of my dreams and ambitions in the music industry in which I am going to work on my own personal music project AND I will never end my quest in helping the Indie Artists.
I am also pursuing my dream of publishing an Indie Zyne called "The Arizona Outlaw" in which I promote the Indie World as a whole. I did this in 1995 but was unable to keep it afloat. The Outlaw is under construction at this time, but with the help of the Lord above ,this will also happen.
I will be updating this profile according to my talents and crafts in the music industry very soon. It will include all of my endeavours and accomplishments. There is quite a bit there as I have been dedicated to learning all I can in order to fulfill not only mine but all of those unsung heroes of The Indie Industry's dreams and accomplishments come true. Remember you are a very special breed and pretty much the misunderstood bunch who without each other's support we would be very very lonely and very very very broke. Primarily the only thing different between the Majors and The Indies is The Buck... I am hoping to help these artists and the indie crews behind the scenes also, by building up a showcase venue in order to be seen by Major Talent Scouts, etc. I have done this for many years and I am very well versed in how it can be accomplished. If there are any Venues that are interested in this support effort please contact at the same number given above. Those venues will also be promoted for free and given awards for their help.. Until then.. Don't forget where your gift came from. Never let anyone hurt you enough to bring your love of music into just a job where you dont even care... We need music of all genres in order to survive as humans. It is God Given and it is not supposed to hurt..God Bless....PJ
