pjnoack was born in questionable circumstances (it is said he was raised by sadhus) and so became a musician by trade. finding brass instruments unbecoming (that whole spit valve thing) and nightly pole dancing at merle's bar o mutton "exhausting", he took up the keys at a young age and began writing ever more diverse little ditties, all of them infused with a certain dark ickiness. over the years he became bewitched by an ultimately irreconcilable range of musical styles and yet even today manages to completely elude most of them himself. laughing in the face of fear and always keeping up his fluids have helped him to remain as trim and taut as an unstrung bow, and this approach to his artistic practice is clearly evident in his use of Rwandan Mountain Gorilla in a number of signature dishes. in 1997 he invented the ipod. critics have hailed him as the next donatella versace, but the composer himself disputes this, pointing out that versace is, in fact, dog ugly. phil, as his owl debbi refers to him, has worked with numerous collaborators, a number of them real. he recently provided music for restless dance co's production "Continual Unfolding of Now", Adelaide Centre for the Arts' production of Strindberg's "A Dream Play" and his soundtrack for a new interptretation of Aristophanes "the birds" was heard at the prague scenofest in 2007. phil performs as a soloist as well as with other artists and is known variously as "the salmon of music", "music's patrick duffy" and "history's greatest monster". Phil's upcoming cinema debut "The Pointless Life and Hilarious Death of Harmony Korine", which he wrote, produced, directed, starred, costarred, gaffered, made coffee and fluffed for will surely leave audience's jaws on the floor.

"The Sweet Hollywaiians have probably the best feel for this 20's music of any string band working today. They manage the rare feat of sounding relaxed even when their playing is hot, are top notch musicians with tasteful arrangements and a full, rich, warm sound.Plus, they have a nice gamut of tunes, from King Nawahi to Giovanni Vicari to Bobby Leecan. See them live, if you can, for an unforgettable experience. If you can't, buy their Cds!" ~ Terry Zwigoff
