Frank Sinatra meets Janis Joplin. They were introduced to each other by Willie Nelson....at a Mickey Newberry concert.
PJ is a songwriter and sings just well enough to get his songs acrossed. If you are into singer/songwriter...where the heart hits home, you will love PJ.
If not, move along little doggy.
Musical beginnings from the everglades of Florida to the red clay of south Georgia, passing through Atlanta and on into the Great Smoky Mountains, making a side trip through the Carolinas to Virginia and Kentucky and resting in Nashville. The smell of honey suckle, a sip of a mint julep, the beauty of one red rose and the sound of fiddle and steel. That's right, you've got it...the music of PJ Steelman.
PJ has always loved all kinds of music, from country to big band to R&B to gospel, and it all comes across so well in his great Americana recordings. His music encompasses all of these influences.
Traveling Music, the brand new CD from PJ Steelman is on Blue Cypress Records. PJ's music is published through Fat Walter Music and Sound Determination Music.
There have been so many musical influences in PJ's career, including Merle Haggard, Frank Sinatra, Dick Curless, Bill Anderson, Johnny Cash, Mel Torme, Peggy Lee, and Benny Goodman. PJ has worked for over 20 years at stations in the eastern part of the U.S. He is playing music all of the time and if you catch him live, he is currently playing a Dean T-77 or a Yamaha FG-200, through a tubefex processor, and a Nashville 400 amp. He also uses a 77 tele deluxe...catch them in concert when you can.

I truly believe that when we lose a loved one...they are out there watching over us in some form....
CRY NOT, IN THE DARKNESS
Sleep, do you hear me calling Sleep as I whisper your name, Sleep, let me kiss, the tears from your cheek I can feel the heartaches remain.
Cry not in the darkness my sweetheart Cry not for my soul sings with joy, List' to the music that sings in your heart Of love, death could never destroy.
Dream of our walks through life's garden Love was felt, in the touch of your hand, Your smile, the reason the flowers did bloom And our footprints not left 'pon the sand.
Cry not in the darkness my sweetheart Cry not for our love will remain, List' for the winds that cry in the night They lovingly whisper your name.
Live for each moment my sweetheart Search life with a smile and a song, For when the last sunset, kisses your cheek Again in my arms you'll belong.
