Evoking the spirit of the timeless Neil Young, emerging Tamborine-based singer-songwriter PJ Weston has, with Songs About Home, produced a debut album that impresses no end with the seemingly effortless ease with which he’s delivered these 11 folk/country songs.
It’s almost impossible not to break out in a smile, tap your feet and feel reinvigorated by tracks such as album opener ‘Plant Myself’, ‘Kids These Days’, ‘Don’t Grieve For Me’ and ‘All In Your Mind’. Subtler moments also come with ‘Waiting For Me’ ‘I’m Telling You’ and the heart-aching ‘Cats And Dogs’, on which Weston backs himself on keys and harmonica. Recorded at home, Weston also mixed the bulk of the album himself, showing that he has talents both in a technical and artistic sense.
Simple but not simplistic, Songs About Home is honest, organic, and straight from the heart. Nothing is forced, nothing is overused, and nothing sounds premeditated or over dwelled upon. In an age when an artist with integrity is as rare as hen’s teeth, PJ Weston proves with this debut album that he is a rare and promising find.

Hey PJ, Sure we're in an economic crisis, but the world is still in need of good music! Do you need fresh tunes to get you through the week? Just in time, the new Mayan Fox EP is OUT!!!
The release is not in CD form but rather a cool little digital download card! It's about the size of a credit card and on the front you'll get some of Nate's artwork (actually he stole the image from the Mayan calendar - you know the one that ends in 2012....hmmm).
What you have on the back of the card is a website to go to and your own code to retrieve (DOWNLOAD) the 5 tracks that we've recorded and mastered for your enjoyment. 5 tracks for only $5!!! (+ $1 p&h)
Hey PJ! How's it going? Dan Acfield here - this is the old Dan Acfield Band site - we're going by "Dear April" nowadays. How did the EP launch go? I saw you in the street press a while back...
Hey PJ, were you at Soma Search last night? Packed house. Did you know you got through on wildcard? So did I so I'll see you there. Maria got through to semis.
