Home-brew, simple folk/Afro-blues, rock and roll, spiced with the
West African and Utajärvi herbs (Janko is from Gambia, PK is from
Utajärvi, the Northern Finland).
Currently the PK & Janko duo is pre-producing their debut album and
writing new songs. The album is due in the autumn of 2009 or the
spring of 2010.
The language of the songs is English and Mandinka.
PK KERÄNEN: GTR, VOC
PK has played guitar for about 32 years, of which 27 years in the
band 22-Pistepirkko.
Numerous recordings, tours and concerts all over the world. PK lives
in Helsinki.
JANKO MANNEH: DJEMBE, BASS DRUM, HARMONICA AND VOC.
Janko comes from Gambia and has played various percussion instruments.
Janko has played in many bands and performed for example in China and
other countries as well.
He has also taught playing djembe. Janko lives in Helsinki now.
